Any UK based people here

Hi,

Silly question maybe but are there any UK based people here making a living online? I've been reading lots over the past few months and everything seems to be written for the American market and all the people I've come across that are most vocal about their success seem to be American.

Just wondering if there are any UK based folk about that actually make a living online and if those people market their products to the American market or otherwise?

Im in the UK, and run online and offline businesses both in the UK and worldwide!

Obviously the US is bigger, and most campaigns focus on US keywords, but I do have select online businesses based solely in the UK!

I mainly market to English speaking countries, UK, US and Australia/NZ etc.

I have niches I promote purely to the UK audience but many abroad. Either way, this is the internet, you are not restricted to your island.

Thats a very good point. I guess for a little while I was just feeling like 'maybe americans just buy more online' lol

I see nobodies really mentioned 'what' they do. lol.

That said I see Ruth does PLR, I just heard Nicole Dean on Pat Flynns podcast the other day talking about all that stuff. Interesting really..

I'm from the UK too, but I target most of my stuff towards US markets. But there's still money to be made in the UK market itself - many Warriors have proven that.

Hi, i`ve been creating websites and marketing for a while now in the UK and it`s not bad - depends on your niche that you are aiming for. For ref I have personally giving up with adwords due to the ever increasing cost but there millions of ways of getting traffic.

P.S. Twitter traffic conversion is crap!

    Cheers

    Hi

I've been a UK writer for over 3 years and making a decent living! I write for both UK and US clients and always ask which they require - it's proved to work very well to date and saves a lot of confusion. I write a wide range of niches, especially car, home, commercial and motorbike insurance for UK companies as the terminology differs from US insurance - knowing the difference makes all the difference in providing quality articles!

As you say not many are giving you any clues to what they do

Mine is creating sites that promote amazon products (everyone trusts amazon), promoting work at home, genealogy (Crazy Niche - huge traffic potential) and Tour date information.

The key for me has been to get that killer keyword on your site and watch the traffic flow in. Took me 4 or 5 years to nail it down, for example i started a mini tour dates 2011 site in January this year just for adsense and i`m getting 8,000-10,000 hits a month and i have not spent a penny in advertising

      There's loads of us buddy.

There's also some pretty big names from the UK now too... Lee McIntyre, Alex Jeffreys, Dean Holland, Andrew Fox, George Brown, Phil Ainsworth...

(Ok that last one may have been a bit of a cheeky stetching of the truth)

Also, (and I don't know if it's true or not) but I have had lots of US people tell me that they believe British accents sell better to the US market than their own...so use that to your advantage :-)

Here's to our UK success - Go Team UK Warriors lol

That first bit made me crack up

I smell opportunity here, us UK marketers should develop a site to help our fellow newbie UK IM'ers out.

Personally I'm doing Amazon Review sites. I do domain sales. Few niche sites selling clickbank products. And a few personal gaming sites.

Hi - im from the Uk - Peterborough

I run a number of online campaigns -

being an IM allows you to market worldwide - if you limit yourself to the UK only then you will be leaving out a massive slice of potential customers

Should my campaigns only be targeted to UK visitors then 90% of my websites wouldn't succeed

I'm in UK too, the West Midlands to be more exact. I'm totally new to the internet marketing industry and still learning.

I find myself a bit overwhelmed with all the information thrown at me and I would like to hire a coach to show me the way if I was able to afford that, but at this moment in time I just can't afford myself that luxury.

I struggle a bit with finding the more basic information as to what is a good hosting provider and what you need to start up and what is the best "company form" to use in the UK.

Today I did find some usefull information for newbies:

Any input from any of you highly appriciated.

          I'm from the UK too.

I'm surprised that there are only 36 (now 37) replies on this thread.

So only 37 Warriors are from the UK out of over 291,000 members.

I would have thought there would be a least a 100 people from England on here.

This thread was started on the 9th, most people must have had their say lol

This place is actually ranked 116 on Alexa in the UK, and is ranked 141 in the US.

If I had to guess I reckon around 25-35% of members on here are from the UK.

I'm pretty certain most members are from the US, with us in second place.

Ah, sorry I didn't see that. I thought it was a new thread.

I'd guess about 20 or so percent are from the UK with the US out in front. This forum does get some crazy traffic.

Pretty much any internet marketing search I do on Google results in me finding this place.

I'd love to see inside the WF Google Analytics account.

I'm UK, too. Normally from Surrey, but currently at uni in Kent.

I market to the UK and US markets (well, all English speaking markets) but I've found that a large percentage of my sales relative to my total number of website visitors comes from the UK.

Maybe people from the UK trust people from the UK more?

That's a stupid thing to say, what would you know about what we do and don't do regarding our own country?

It is my own country and if I'm paying £72 to fill up my car I'm entitled to an opinion on my "beeswax".

And if you read what I wrote correctly you will see that I said "many" not "all".

I'll use it in a sentence just to clarify...

There are many internet marketers in the UK that are doing very well for themselves.

There are also many that are not, like my grandmother, her sister and all her friends at the retirement home...
