I know I do. Well not daily but as a blogger and Im'er I kinda need to do 30 minutes a day on the threadmill to keep me in shape. Just 30 minutes a day on the threadmill can you do you good no? thanks.

I lift weights and cardio like once a week.... just doing cardio imo is not much, 30 min on a treadmill isn't a lot (well depending on speed etc). Get into lifting weights and mix some cardio in, lifting weights can increase testosterone etc and make you feel a lot better.

I mix up my routines, right now on a M..W..F workout plan with heavier lifting.

I live in a small town, do a lot of walking to the store, etc. Some weeks I put in 20 miles or more of walking..

I know we can't talk about politics, and religion, but exercising might be something else we need to add to the list. OK, for those of you that are exerholics, I was just kidding.

it's better than never leaving your couch/computer chair all day . Exercise keeps your mind sharp. It doesn't have to be everyday though but the key is to establish a regular schedule. 3-5 times a week for example.

But to make the most return for your time, money, effort - do it right. Intensify your workout and gradually increase the intensity. No lazy cardios - run rather than jog. Do interval training, metcon, and strength training. Short and brutal rather than long and easy.

Then fuel up on healthy whole foods not the starchy, processed and high in sugar kind. Take lots of sleep.

30 minutes is better than NO minutes. Coming from someone who has lost a bunch of weight (over 80 pounds) I highly recommend doing something, anything, to stay active, especially if you sit in front of a computer for half the day or so.

I find that exercise not only burns calories, it is also excellent for stress relief. My weapon of choice is cycling, both mountain biking and road biking. 5 days a week keeps me sane and in decent shape.

If you are doing it on regular basis like to keep yourself more than fit it's ok that you are doing 30 minutes on treadmill. Doing something is better than nothing.

Occasionally I'll get on the regular exercise routine but it rarely lasts more than a few weeks. In the summertime I'm pretty active because I love walking the beach, swimming, hiking, etc. In the winter time though I don't do so well. Once the temperature drops below 70 degrees fahrenheit, I'd rather just stay indoors.

I need to get more consistent. I had a doctor's appointment on March 1st. Everything looked great except my good cholesterol was too low. My Doc says that the only way to raise it is more exercise. No pills for that, damn it!

Why Fazal, do you ask me this question?

    Why?

When I was just moseying about my business being a lush...

The times I feel best are when Im in the best shape of my life. If you can simply take 20 minutes per day and get into a routine of 150 pushups, 200 situps, and 100 squats everyday, along with 10 minutes of cardio, most people could be in the best shape of their life... theres no reason not to...

But still, I haven't exercised at all this year really. Except for mowing the lawn...

Misread the title of this thread. Whoops. Carry on.

I do exercise daily...my baby makes sure of it, picking him up, carrying him around. Also, he's gradually increasing weight, which means he's offering me an increasing resistance exercise system. If I don't exercise, the baby alarm goes off and is very loud.

It keeps the system more clear and sharpens the mind and relaxes the body. It's an excellent investment of your time.

I like to walk around campus. Seriously. It's walking with a point to it. Just going around the block just to go around the block drives me nuts.

Maybe WF is a bad place to talk about this 'cause it sounds kinda wooky, but here's something I figured out on the bus two days ago and it's been *awesome!!*

I'm writing a novel about a body builder. It's been on the back shelf for six years and now that I have my iPhone I write it on the bus and it's awesome beyond all reason. I figured out something cool: self hypnosis (like I said, wooky!) that lets me literally 'lift weights' anywhere and whenever I want.

Shoot me a message if you're interested, it's hard to explain in a forum post. I haven't made it into a program or anything, it's just something cool I figured out.

I think small amount of Yoga can be added to a schedule of sitting in front of the computer with little breaks.for e.g. pranayams and sukhm byayams which will be in deed relaxing for the doer.

I used to exercise vigorously 4x a week for about an hour and used to walk for 30-60 minute walks almost everyday. I'm seeing a cardiologist this week to find out if I can get back on that exercise routine. My heart's been doing weird things lately.

I work in small units of time and take a very small break in between. I usually walk around or stretch during those small breaks. During the course of the day, these small units of walking and stretching add up. I easily do at least 30 minutes a day.

30 minutes a day is, like... maintenance. It doesn't make you stronger or healthier. So if you just want to stay as you are, then 30 minutes is fine. If you want to get fitter, then you need more varied types of exercises to work all of your system, not just your legs and a bit of cardio. Of course, if you aren't walking very fast or up any grades, your cardio won't be getting much of a workout either.

Me, I walk my dog every day for about 30 minutes - all types of weather, unless I'm having one of my "don't feel like it" days, which amounts to maybe 5-6 a year. Sometimes, the walk extends into the forests and through different neighborhoods with those - "hills". On those days, it's more like a 1 hour walk. If there are ducks at the pond, I'll hang out there, which moves it up to about 1-1/2 hours - although I'm not really 'exercising' at the pond. If I stop to talk to neighbors, it can soon increase to a 2-hour break from work, but not all exercise, obviously. Oh, if only standing around counted.

I've been meaning to get back on my exercycle since January. Do good intentions count?

30 min jog for me every day, without fail.

I belive the body and the mind are one unit. You need to keep your body in shape and the mind will go along with it.

Plus scientific evidence suggest that when you exercise you relesed small amounts of dopamine into your brain and it helps to keep you happy and relaxed when you body is in rest.

It's based off of a military method so you know that your getting good solid info. I recommend to all.

You would be surprised how quickly your back will start hurting if you are an online marketer and use the computer the whole day..

For that reason, I now make sure I exercise enough everyday.

    This means:

    1. 1 km run on the treadmill
    2. lifting some weight
    3. doing some ab crunches
    4. taking out my frustration on a punching bag

You guys should do the same. It will definitely help.

The excuses here are typically brillaint.

There is always time in the day to do something as important as exercise. You simply make the time.

You can slice half an hour off your sleep if need be, getting up earlier or going to bed later assuming your lifestyles are really this hectic, which is very doubtful.

There is always time. The fact is you just don't want to fill any of your time (however small) with a physically taxing activity.

Being honest with oneself is the best way to begin change.

"I will do today tomorrow what you won't so tomorrow I can do what you can't..."

I used to work out everyday, mainly weight training... and I was building up quite a physique but I let it all go down hill toward the end of 2010 when stress related anxiety and depression took over -- Not eating renders physical training utterly useless.

I am hoping to get my mind right again some day soon and get back on it, I lost a lot of weight and hate myself for it... I have a helluva time gaining weight in the first place.

I go up and down the stairs in the house and I also do weight lifting 2 times per week.

It is also very important to drink a lot of water every day.

People underestimate the importance of water. You have to keep hydrated and sports drinks just don't cut it.

I have done some simple calisthenics on a daily basis for about 15 years, but they are so mild, I don't think I would call them exercise.

I do try to do some true exercising a few times a day on a daily basis, but I don't have a defined schedule, so I am not very dedicated to it.

And ... like Tal just said, I go up and down stairs in my home numerous times a day! (But again, I don't do it as exercise.)

Well, let's see. How many trips do I take to the kitchen and bathroom every day?

But seriously... I try to swim at least twice a week and walk my dog when the weather is nice, usually a few times a week now. I used to walk him 7 days a week, 2 km each trip, but he ran into my knee once too often, tearing my meniscus, so for the past year, the trips have been minimal at best.

Anyone have any tips to healing this meniscus in my knee so I can get back to my usual exercise schedule?

I personally do not exercise daily, however the only time I try to work in another workout is if I had a binge eating day the night before just to burn off those calories. I try to workout atleast 4 times a week. Whats more important is the diet that you incorporate into your lifestyle which really burns that extra weight.

Used to weight lift daily, but now I mostly just use my own body weight. Bought a pull-up bar and an ab coaster a while back, and between using those plus push-ups and lunges, I've managed to keep fit despite my love of carbs

I exercise daily with proteo system. It's good system when you don't have time to go to the gym (or don't like as me). You can exercise at home without any equipement.
