Google offered SEO services to my companies site

My boss received a phone call from Google offering to SEO his site for £50 ($80) per month and top ranking every 1 in every 4 weeks I explained to him if Google did offer their services it wouldnt be for $80 per with gaurantees, he doesnt know anything about SEO and only refused because they couldnt gaurantee top ranking 100%

    I can't imagine the uproar that would be caused by Google doing SEO work and letting the sites they worked on rank #1.

    Are you sure it wasn't some bozo using Google's name as an authority trigger?

    Sort of like those lame "As Seen On Google" idiot magnets people put on their websites...

        Sounds more like those boiler rooms calling to say they get you on "google" for page 1 for anything...some of these guys will get you on 1st page however they'll rank you for keywords that have no competition or have anything to do with your business but they don't tell you that (they just say we'll get you on page 1). I know b/c I have the same dumbasses who will call me, whats really fun is when you screw with them and start asking questions on SEO..... 1) either they don't know what their talking about or 2) the usual "sponsored" section bs.
