There's actually quite a lot, especially in the U.S. too that do not want to be listed on Forbes, mainly on the lower end when Forbes does their full list.

Why would Oprah be on there next year for top 10? She's not even remotely close to the top she's towards the bottom of the billionaires, there's another 400 people on the list with higher net worths.

Steve Jobs, and Stephen Wozniak, didn't earn quite that much, and spent a good chunk later on various things. ALSO, at this point, I'm sure they only own a small portion of the shares. And earlier, NO women made it this high. The women in the walton family WERE very high up on the richest women's list though. Imagine how rich SAM would be today if HE still owned all of that, YIKES!!!!!! He would probably be at the very top and STAY there! They have a LARGE family, and a LOT of them made this list or the other.

What of Paul Allen? You know, HE invested more money early on. He should have gotten more stock. Stave Jobs/stephen wozniak bill gates/paul allen BOTH ended up the SAME way. 8-(

Carlos Slim Helu apparently used family money as well. A cursory look at him on wikipedia makes it look like he got there by doing what buffet did. Invested in some popular or needed companies, bought at least a big stake in a company and started a corporation, and just kept buying. And BOTH used a little luck! Buffet used/uses a quirk in the tax law to gain a foothold. Of course having a company with locked up capital and constantly decreasing voting rights DOES help! You know on "it's a wonderful life" how everytime a bell rings an angel gets its wings? Well, it at least USED to be that almost every time a class B share was valued at more than 1/30th of a class A share, Warren got more control! At that time, more powerful A class would be converted to B class to make money, but it would also reduce their rights. At the end, the one with the most A shares wins. Around 2010, BRK.B split 50 for one! YIKES! Carlos used the disasters created by the fall of the peso!

Not sure if you were being serious or not but Oprah is worth 2 B, a far cry from the list.

Think about this. this- Mark Z. the founder of fb is worth 3 x Oprah and he is only 27 or 28
