Begging For A Review Copy

I was checking out the WSO section and noticed that as soon as a new WSO is launched you have a few people begging for review copies.
That's fine as some WSO owners actually give out a few just to get buyers interested, but... (Always with the but )

IMO the "Review" most of these people give is piss poor to say the least, a few lines of garbage. If you are getting a free copy for review at least take the time to post a thorough and honest review so that other members can benefit from your insights.

Just saying
Cheers

Didn't even know it wasn't against the rules to ask for a review copy. It became so prevalent a technique to get free stuff that they pulled the plug on it I thought.

So that blind people can hate them as well.

Another consideration, can you be completely objective when you get a freebie?

Well, I think someone who gets a review copy is obligated to disclose that fact when he/she posts the review.

If anyone sees someone asking for a review copy when none has been offered, you can report the post and it will be deleted, and the offender possibly banned if they make a habit of it.

          I'd agree Ken.

In general, imo, the worst reviews are the 'templated ones' that read like a form letter. Serial reviewers do them.
Y'know, the one's that start off, ... (my comments in parentheses)

"The wso arrived as a PDF (wow, you're kidding)
and was 24 pages long (oh so much reading, I hate reading) and was divided into sections for easy reference. (Thank God!, as I'd be lost in 24 pages of stuff)

" It seems perfect for a new person or an 80 year old veteran marketer with cataracts."

" I would have EASILY paid $97 for this, but I didn't have to." ( actually never pays for any wso's, so doesn't matter what the damn thing costs)

"you are selling this way too cheap - stop selling it!"

"Anyone who applies these methods should succeed, but if you are lazy I do not recommend this product." (oops, that leaves me out!)

It IS against the rules to ask for review copies, but there are a large number of people that ignore that rule. On the rare times I read through that section, I can promise I will see some requests in almost every other new thread or so. Depending on my mood I might point out it is against the rules.
Its also pretty funny to see someone thats relatively new here almost demand a review copy because the OP did give out a limited number .
    Ah,such is human nature.

Look times are tough, but a lot of WSO's are selling between $5 to $10 (don't know what that translates to in other parts of the world) but over here that's 2 big mac's and a coke.

You mean the people who post the same "canned" template review for everything, think we all know who they are lol

Gee - thought I was the only one who noticed our "professional reviewers" here

Some write great reviews - always positive, of course. I guess some people just love everything they read....especially if they get it free.

I dont do review copies... leave it up someone will buy it... if its good they will talk about it... if its not, prob need to go back to the drawing board.

Now I do give away a free report here and there, but I dont ask people to review my stuff.
