Willie's pot case

As some of you know, Willie Nelson was busted with 6 oz. of pot back in Nov.
Within a day Willie started the TeaPot party and in less then a week in had chapters in every state.
Well today the D.A. who is prosecuting Willie offered him a plea deal.
Only Willie could get a deal like this
Here's a couple of my favorite quotes from the D.A.
"I'm gonna let him plead, pay a small fine and he's gotta sing "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain" with his guitar right there in the courtroom," County Attorney Kit Bramblett said this week. "You bet your ass I ain't gonna be mean to Willie Nelson."
The 6.24 ounces that was found when Willie was arrested is above the amount Bramblett can handle in his jurisdiction. Well, no problem. "Between me and the sheriff, we threw out enough of it or smoked enough so that there's only three ounces, which is within my jurisdiction," Bramblett said.
Actually, he explained, once you take the dope out of its packaging, the weight drops and that's how Willie landed in the county attorney's case load.

    Yep, Willie Nelson is one of those people who can transcend many man induced barriers.

    You see those videos with him and Snoop Dog? Odd but way cool and illustrates my point.

    On a another point about this...when are "they" going to stop screwing around about such a benign substance.

    What? Are they afraid someone is going to corner the hot dog market?

    It should be legalized and any tax money used to fight the truly dangerous stuff like meth.

    It's 2011 and some people act like they still believe in the worlds best unintentional comedy...Reefer Madness.

    I hardly ever smoke and I still think it's ridiculous the amount of money and effort put into outlawing such a benign plant.

    Somebodies still trying to figure out how to make the most money off it's legalization...gotta be..

    I love the Blues and Willie has always been a true blues man. There can be no better testament to this than when BB King made a hit song with Willie's tune The Night Life Aint No Good Life. I love BB King but I like the original Willie version best.

      While I do agree that there is no logic behind allowing alcohol and cigarettes and banning marijuana, I don't think that it is fair that a star gets treated different than a normal person.

        If it was anyone else I'd agree 100% Tashi.
        But with Willie it's a little different.
        First Willie has done more for the people of this country then all the politicians in Washington.
        When family owned farms where (are) in trouble, he started Family Farmers, Good Food, A Better America - Farm Aid
        Wilie is one of the last (if not the last) American Icon.
        Like I said in the first post, within a week of starting the Teapot Party all 50 states had chapters.
        Not to mention that Willie has never hid his pot use from anyone.
        It's common knowledge in Texas and the rest of the US that Willie smokes pot. Besides in Texas there are two people you don't mess with, God and Willie

          Okay, I'm sorry, I don't know that guy, I thought he was just a hippie or something.

          Well I think then I could agree with that, if he has done so much good, then he deserves better

          Just makes me furious that a few celebrities just drop a few bills out of their pocket change and walk out of the court room freely to go on celebrating their orgies.
