I'm Angry - I hate working from home!!

My family gets too freaking loud for me to work! It drives me crazy. Firefox keeps getting slow and I have to restart it. Like, 500mb of RAM is being used up in Firefox? What's it doing? Curing cancer? I'm in the process of updating like 12 blogs from an easy theme to a new theme and everything is getting under my skin.

I hate my life and I hate working from home. I'm on the verge of making some serious money and am seriously thinking of getting a small 1 room office to rent. Nobody respects the work you do from home, except the checks. I've people yelling in odd voices right when I'm in the middle of incredibly tedious, yet brain cramping tasks! I'm on the verge of just yelling - SHUT THE *** UP!

/end of rant. Anyone else want to rant, let it all go here.

This ((NSFW)) VID IS ME;

        Well, an update.

I still hate my life, but my life is now faster because I've gone back over to Chrome. I just don't know how long it'll last. And as I type this.. I think it's time for a new Keyboard. It's just that most new Keyboards are so seriously over-priced. $50-$100 for a new keyboard? If I bought this keyboard again (a new one) it'd be just as loud.

But I want to warn people. Firefox was making me think my host was slow! I think it's sheer volume of plugins I have on there. Each plugin is trying to do its own thing and is taking up more and more resources. But Chrome just flies. I'm to the point of opening sites just to see how fast they load... Next on my list is a quieter keyboard, and then I'm going to tape the mouths of my family members' shut.

Youuuu know the ups outweigh the downs. Admittedly, I'm quite productive in out-of-the-home spaces like Sbux or a library. Try to get in a few hours in a different setting each week if you can.

It's not just the plug-ins but Firefox has a big issue with memory leaks eating up ram causing your computer to slow down. Even just 1 tab open for a bit you can check and see massive memory being used.

I love Chrome, it's the only browser where I can have two windows open with like 10-15 tabs open in each one with no issue... Safari usually will crash doing that in 1 window, FF ends up dragging after a couple tabs... Chrome blows them away in speed and stability.

I don't know where your located but have you checked into getting an office, executive suites can be fairly cheap and usually included everything and a shared secretary etc.

      BOOM!

I totally agree. Get a place if you can so you can have privacy to think. And dump the Fox. I loved it more than IE. Still do, but realized one day when I tried Chrome that I didn't need all those add-ons that Firefox has. Chrome uses less resources and runs about ten light years faster than Firefox and IE. Well, maybe 9 light years, I haven't checked in awhile. In any case, you have to do things to make your life easier and be happier. Otherwise becoming burnt out and stressed is your reward.

Ah, yes! Isn't that Kingsford Charcoal ad sheer brilliance! "Somebody get this man a burger!"

I've found that it often helps to get away from all the technology, grab a legal pad and go to a coffee shop for some brainstorming. .

I know how you feel when it comes to the noise in the house, I have a family of 5. The house is always noisy. If I'm going to tape a training, I put the slides together while they're awake and then do the taping after they go to bed. Late nights for me but I keep telling myself, when I make enough to quit my day job, I'll have all day when their at school. I can't ask them to be quite during the time their up, that's not really fair to them, kids will be kids as they should be. :-)

      Everything is pissing me off...

But it's the noise that got the ball rolling. I was trying to get some text right, something I always struggle with, and my Keyboard is also freaking loud, but I had a particular family member in the other room (who shall remain nameless, until his untimely death) decides to make the most bizarre dinosaur death noise that I instantly lost all focus. I'm going to urinate on the keyboard. Maybe then it won't be so freaking loud.

As long as the electrocution isn't loud, I'd be happy.

Firefox is old news to me. I switched to Chrome about a year ago. It only freezes or slow down if I have like 10 windows open.

Chrome is fine. I just can't manage crap like I can (for an hour anyway) with Firefox. I've got it tricked out with quick note, roboform (which crashes on Chrome) and bookmarks.

Let them know that you're working, or fixed your working place at the house that has less noise or people. If still not working, find/rent a small room. Working from home is not a game, you still need to treat it like your professional job. So, first invest some money to find a place your comfortably working, that's for your peace of mind, because this will start your productive mind and thoughts. Good luck!

    Hello,
I yelled at one of my kids so hard when he was disturbing me at work that I almost had a stroke, I think I blew a blood vesil in my left eye and it still hurts months later.
Just get rid of all the distractions and you really can make money on the internet.

I don't remember what it's like to work without distractions. When I was in college though my friends and I would do our work while consulting with each other about relevant stuff and some not so relevant stuff - but the work got done so I just am in touch with working with distractions anyway.

I'm thinking that some people don't remember what it's like at the office. I never had a job that I didn't get endlessly interrupted at. Someone always has something to say or something they need. Where is it everyone is used to working that they never had distractions?

You don't need an office. Just use a laptop with wireless broadband and work anywhere away from home. I work in KFCs, Strarbucks, McDonalds, other cafes and restaurants all the time. When the weather is nice, I work on a bench in the park.

Here are the reasons why I don't like to work at home:

    1. I can be interrupted anytime by my parents and sisters. My time is not that flexible, and I cannot focus well. Of course family is always my priority, but they have no to little respect and appreciation about my career and future.
    2. My dogs were always barking anytime, and it disrupts the quality of myself doing some video recording. Roosters and vehicles are also interrupting me (btw, I'm not living in a farm).
    3. We don't have an airconditioner which may cool me up to work, and my parents don't like me to have one in my room (even if I will be the one to pay for electricity bill).

As a result, I really do hate working in our home! My dream is to have my own office (where I'm DA Boss), where I can be free of anything. Also....I love to work on malls and other cool areas with Wi-Fi access. I love to be a business guy, and an internet marketer as well.

I have been working hard at this for 2 mo's now. I can totally relate to what you are saying - I have a huge family 4 boys and a husband that thinks operating a computer is when you throw it in the driveway and back over it repeatedly! Haha - I wonder what I am in for when all the kids are out of school in the summer. God please grant me more patience before that happens! (and please do it NOW) I wish you the best - to be honest I have actually yelled, (just left the cussing part out) : )
