You know...sometimes I get the feeling I'm at a Kirby vacuum convention where everyone's trying to sell everyone else on why their vacuum is better than the next guy.

Now I realize as far as time spent on these boards goes...I have nothing on most of you. But my point is, has it always been so...CLASSFIED-ish? I feel like I've died and gone to direct marketing heaven where Saint Peter only grants access to those with the greatest ad copy. Yet the reality is...they all are clones of one another. Where's the originality?

Peace...I'm just sayin...

Click my sig to find some originality. I got fed up with salespages and just put my last e-guide on a simple page with a couple of paragraphs of what it's actually about. I tried a few salespages then thought, well.....if I do a salespage people are going to expect that control freak hypnotism mumbo jumbo and I couldn't get past that - so there it is all plain and simple. My PLR pages are about the same - just tell em what they are getting and if that's not good enough I'm not going to hype the stuff until it sounds like total SOS crap. If it's different, why use the same SOS marketing to tell about it?

Good point Ken...good point. However, how can we "really" see the truth through all the BS when we are realistically talking about arrogant salesmen here. I say that knowing full well that in order to write ad copy one has to be slightly...if not completely...arrogant. So myself included. How do we know that this same old late night informercial crap is still converting?

To be honest I think it does...to a point. But I think you've got to be creative in your writing or else you face the good chance that many people coming across your material...might mistake it for a viagra, get slimmer, get taller, grow hair bla bla bla campaign. My point is...we can simply replace the product with whatever and the rest of it...ALL THE SAME.

We, as marketers, just see the same ad copy techniques being used all the time. They really do work, except on those of us who know those techniques or are jaded by the hype. There's an old saying, "You can't bull**** a bull****ter." But also, there's a sucker born every minute.

As for the forum (just as a vacuum convention) - there are worthy jewels to be had for the price......just a matter of finding them
