Last year I booked a hotel near Hyde Park for some Italian friends and when it came to determining the total price for the rooms, the operator calculated it on the spot.
I didn't quite understand the concept until I actually put down the telephone.
The price for each room was calculated on the day, based on the percent of bookings at the time when somebody was booking.
I find this system so efficient...this is concept of demand and the offer presented in front of you. I almost would like to see it applied to restaurants and supermarket, because I believe the wastes would be minimised.
What is your view?
