Would like to know more about how qr codes work and how easy to obtain them. Any better than another?

    • They are those mysterious looking symbols that people are placing all over advertisements (especially offline). You use a smartphone QR code reading app and when you scan the QR code you can get the data which is usually a URL or a message. Do a Google search and you can see exactly what I mean.

  • A bar code contains something like a serial number, ie:8911123712
    A QR code can contains strings even your website, ie: yourdomain.com

    You can generate QR Code easily, there are a lot of websites that allow you to generate QR code.

    Use a device (ie: an Android phone) to read the QR Code (take the picture of the QR Code)
    Usually the QR Code will contain a link to explain the advertisement or product.

  • Most are free but if you want real time tracking and in-depth statistics you will normally have to pay a nominal fee, premium qr code services generally offer a lot more features over the free ones

    If you are going to use qr codes to link to websites for the sake of the end user make it worth their while and point them to a mobile friendly website not only will it improve the end user experience but will also help qr marketing as a whole - right now there are way to many qr code marketing campaigns being deployed poorly and not being effective, think outside the box a little you can really embrace this type of marketing and do great things with it
