***ATTENTION WARRIORS*** PLEASE READ!

by Warrior AllStars 91 replies
Let's Put Your Name On This Thread, and see if Y-O-U are the kind of Warrior we would want to be out on the battle field with!

In this case, that something, is a someONE... it is a man, a warrior, just like you by the name of Kim Winfrey.

The reason I reminded in the title of this post that its Admin Approved, is because, there are about 500 Warriors fighting this Cause, but there are 100,000 or more people in this forum... So, when many of you hear the name Kim Winfrey, you may be tempted to think "That might be a scam...".

So this Saturday morning, I hope you are enjoying your coffee, because we want to tell you about him... please read.

Kim Winfrey is a warrior who is close to the home and hearts of the people who know and are influenced by him... if you get to know him you'll love and respect him too.

Kim is just like you and I... this Saturday morning is gonna wake up and open up the warrior forum just like me and you, bright eyed and bushy tailed as we say...because we love this place, and we think it loves us.

But there's a difference, when Kim opens up the warrior forum, if its anything like the last 3 days, its gonna be heart breaking....
unless you respond to this.

Kim is gonna die without our help. That's as simple as we can put this.

He goes to sleep every night in prayer that when is new life saving kidney arrives that the funds will be there to support his life... That his warrior brothers and sisters wont leave him on the battle field to die, and that they will make sure he what?

Lives.

I cant call myself a warrior and live with that folks. Not without trying my best to help him and Rilda his wife, as Allen PERSONALLY has, and as many other warriors have... For you who dont know, ALLEN OWNS THIS GREAT FORUM!

But in order to live, our brother Kim is still $47,000 Short of his goal...

Please warriors. Please.

In an effort to save our comrade Kims life the Warrior Forum has gathered together 50 of its most legendary and up and coming WSO's into ONE GREAT PACKAGE...

Just for you... Just to save Kim's life...

Please Hear something, Kim Is A Hero!

He isnt some wimp asking for charity.

He's a WARRIOR in the finest sense.

Do you know what a great and mighty warrior it must take to see all this going on and not feel so much weight...?

Well, thats not weight Kim should have to bear in his condition... Dont you agree?

So please, we are begging you warriors, please don't disappoint us. Please help us save Kim.

Everyday, Kim and 50 Great Warriors From All over the Forum, are all looking at this web page in our sig here, hanging on the edge of our seat hoping you fellow warriors will help us save kims life... and please dont waste time reporting this post Ken Strong reminded us of what we should be using this account for , because he loves Kim too.

There is a time when you "State" Your Case, then there are other times when its so urgent that you must "PLEAD" your case..., and this is one of those times...]

Henceforth we would like to put the name on this thread of every warrior that buys this to support Kim's VERY LIFE!!!

Let's see if YOU are the kind of Warrior we would want to be out on the battle field with!

Kim is fighting for his life, and the daily disappointment of seeing how this launch has been slow is even more weight ... Kim and Rilda are Worried from Kims life. Trust us, they dont like asking, and Im sure it hard for them to even do this... but wouldnt a warrior FIGHT FOR HIS LIFE??

Well thats what Kim is doing, he's staying alive because he JUST KNOWS that his warrior brothers and sisters arent gonna leave him on the battle field and we ARENT...are we...

No We Arent.

In CLOSING (FOR REAL)...

Listen. I dont care if you HATE OUR AD COPY.

I Dont care iof you HATE our web design...

I dont even care if you like the people promoting this or not... Let your heart be filled with compassion, and let your name be immortalized on this list of warriors who fought for their brother in arms.

AND GOSH DARN IT HELP US SAVE KIM!

Now Please Click the Sig... We Wouldn't Ask And Admin wouldn't LET us ask, if it WASN'T LIFE OR DEATH!

And if your name is on that list. Let it be known that you are a HERO!

KIM AINT HEAVY, He's OUR BROTHER!
Please Click The Link In our Sig and HELP KIM LIVE!!!!!

If YOU BOUGHT THE SAVE KIM WINFREY MEGA WSO PLEASE POST YOUR NAME HERE SO OTHERS WILL BE ENCOURAGED TO DO SO AS WELL!

PUT YOUR NAME DOWN HERE AS A FOREVER TESTAMENT:

THAT YOU ARE A WARRIOR WHO DID NOT LEAVE HIS COMRADE BEHIND!

I'd be embarrassed to show up in The WSO section tomorrow talking about "I know how to make money", if my name was not on this board!

I just bought it. Of all the things I've spent $100 on -- a good meal for two, sexy boots, a camcorder -- none has promised such a ROI.

    ...a rock-solid education and saving a life?

    Helloooo, buy button!

I'm definitely in and want to help!

One concern -- does the amount we're trying to raise take into consideration the potential tax impact that Kim might face down the road?

I'd hate to see us saddle Kim with a tax bill he cannot afford to pay.

Can we funnel the money through a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity to evade taxes?

I'll volunteer to read up on this issue if it's a valid concern.

I could be wrong, but I think there are some 501(c)(3)'s that are setup to enable people to make donations to a named individual without the funds being taxed.

This is a very real and legitimate concern. The short answer is I don't know the answer, but I do need to find it out.

Stephen - thanks for your interest.

Um.........dead guys don't pay taxes. It's a great idea but we don't have time........seriously. There's no time. Kim is real close to that transplant and he HAS to be able to afford it. He has to cover what insurance won't pay.........and as of right now his insurance is getting close to running out and they have no money for a policy. I think taxes are a pretty moot point at this time. He might be able to petition the IRS for a hardship consideration considering the source of the funds and the need for them - and the IRS and every government official in this stinking country can receive petitions to waive taxes if we have to do it.

Now - I haven't bought the WSO. I can't right now -- BUT I have donated cash to Kim 3 times now, and I've put in hundreds of man hours on his cause since last year. I have lost money to the tune of several WSOs using my time to raise funds for him --- and I'm going to use more time for it. I've donated products which are no longer for sale anywhere but this WSO. So I'm putting my name up here, too.
You can add Sumit Menon's name to my thread here -- John Durham, graphicsgenie (Darren) - and Patrician has joined us and is manning a station for us here. And we have people who have donated products up the ying to make this the best damned WSO in Warrior history. Add warriors like Seasoned (Steve) who have donated hundreds of Dollars to this cause since last year. If people can't afford the WSO - there's a donation link that takes small donations - it's been up for months and has only $3,164 in it. Anybody game to buy a dying man a cup of coffee?

I think we will have to wait to worry about taxes AFTER we get enough money to save Kim.

      Just sayin'.....................

I bought it to help Kim out.

It's the least I could do.

As a side benefit, the product contains great stuff worth at least a 100x more than the $97 that you'll invest to help Kim out...

    Sally Said it -

I will suspend 'don't let the left hand know what the right hand is doing':

Donated money years ago and to the Kidney Walk recently.

Wrote 3 affiliate emails 4 U all 2 use - click 'affiliates' at the bottom of http:/www.warriorallstars.com - not just for your lists but they can be copied and pasted to your blogs or other mediums you may employ. (for posting best to 'spin' them (re-engineer) a little so they are not duped into oblivion.)

Keeping the AllStars inbox organized (creating order out of chaos) and am open for anything else anybody can think of here. Sticking my nose in whatever I can otherwise - I am very opinionated hello.

I pray every day for Kim and his family that he will get the right kidney.

... and still yet, I have done very little compared to others who have taken up Kim's cause.

I have offered to write articles - unique (not spun, not PLR) one-of-a-kind articles @ $8 each in a pack of 10 ($80) or $9 each in a pack of 5 ($45) - (350-400 words)

100% proceeds to be donated to Kim.

I have had years of experience writing homebiz articles for clients, namely JustArticles.com and TotalContentDomination.com (started out writing for BigMike 6 years ago) -- If you need a reference from the owners PM me - if you are interested and include your keywords.

Good to see some warriors putting their Name on here... still not seeing a ton of sales come through.

Im glad I bought this for several reasons... Mostly for Kim... even though it is a GREAT package,

But there is ONE other reason Im glad I did this is because I'd be embarrassed to show up in The WSO section talking about "I know how to make money", and my name not be on this board!

Or even to be talking on on this thread then look down later when we put up the list and my name not be on this board.

So guys... everytime you see someone commit QUOTE EM!!! Cuz if they dont follow through they are gonna have a big silly post up here and njo name on the board!

Everytime you see someone say they will do it... QUOTE THEM!

Kims life depends on it! We arent playing.

As far as taxes and leaving Kim with tax headaches... TRUST US, if we are gonna walk one mile with him, we are gonna walk the WHOLE WAY!!

For the record, some of us have made donations and continue to do so periodically. Just because we don't buy this package, doesn't mean that we don't care or want to help to the best of our ability.

I hope you sell a TON of these but this is not the only way to give. Perhaps you could make that clear in the OP - donations will still help even if it's only $5 or $10 at a time.

I bought the package. Not for the stuff, but for Kim. I'm on slow Internet connection and probably won't be able to take advantage of a lot of it. But this is about Kim ... not stuff.

I bought the package...I knew the stuff would be awesome...I don't know KIM , but I know of the Warrior Forum and if The movers and Shakers says we need some help for KIM...then I help.

It's just the right thing to do , it's my community and I will do my share to support it.

It as supported me so much already I have no idea if I will ever be able to repay my debt to it.

And KIM , although I don't know you... I will do all my best to help you. It's the least I can do.

    Get well soon mate.

Im in too buddy, heck I dontated to the package as others... and Im still buyin it... its awesome too!

I'll tell you what there are alot of marketers here... but the WARRIORS (family)... family? No family?

The truth is self evident. Family is what Family does.

The real Warriors , the ones who are family, are gonna have their names on this list.

      Glad mine is!

    John,

I'm glad I'm able to afford to do it. Not everyone can. A lot of people would if they could. Some are struggling to make dollars here. Just wanted to say that so that people who can't afford it don't feel like they are "not family" or "not a Warrior".

That's not the message being said here at all, is it?

Instead, everyboy who doesn't contribute (or may have contributed in the past), is being threatened. How? By the suggestion that their future WSOs will not be bought if they don't donate now.

It's a VERY worthy cause - Heck! We could SAVE A LIFE! But...

The tactics being used here are going to turn more people off, which is a shame.

How does the old saying go?

"You can attract more charity with honey than you can with the threat of being blacklisted."

Not to mention that some of us prefer to donate quietly, and are not looking for any kind of special recognition for doing so.

      All the best,

  • This is not going to be very popular; in fact, it may get deleted but it still needs to be said...

I have been in the WF for a very long time. I have given a lot over the years and I have received a lot over the years. I look at the WF in a familial way and it is a great place.

I don't know Kim but I understand his situation is not good. We as warriors NEED to help as much as we can and do whatever we can; there is no question about that!

I would encourage EVERY single member of the WF to donate at least $1 to this cause. That would be several hundred thousand dollars to help Kim with his financial burden. If you have ever benefited from this forum, you should do what you can.

BUT... I think the wrong tone has been taken in this thread and it has hindered more than helped. It is quotes like...
But there is ONE other reason Im glad I did this is because I'd be embarrassed to show up in The WSO section talking about "I know how to make money", and my name not be on this board!
that have turned a lot of people off.

I have a lot of Skype chats that have a lot of people in them. I have seen a LOT of very distinct distaste for comments like that. It has turned people off.

I know there is a lot of passion invested in this desire to help a fellow warrior but it won't do anyone any good to alienate other people in the attempt to make them donate to a worthy cause.

Let's not SHAME anyone into donating. Let's not try to make people feel like outcasts here. Let's make a positive feeling from a negative situation. Let's make the tone one of coming together for a common cause.

As I have said before, I am asking ANYONE who has EVER gained ANYTHING from this forum to help Kim in WHATEVER way you can. Buy the WSO or just donate a dollar if that is all you can do. We have the numbers here in the WF to make something special happen.

I probably won't buy the WSO but I WILL make a donation of some sort to do my part. Each one of us needs to understand that WE may be in the same position at some point and it might be US that needs the help. Good deeds reap a plentiful bounty so let's see what we can do to help Kim!

If this has upset or insulted any particular person, well, I'm sorry that it did. Now you can delete this or call me insensitive but it needed to be said.

    Take care!

      Chris,

You are spot on, my friend.

The Warrior community was there for me when I was facing a major health crisis. They stepped up, and I feel they saved MY life. So I know it CAN BE DONE!!!

However, it's the tone of this thread that has me worried. I have NO DOUBT that the intentions are good, but my gut tells me the tactis are going to backfire, and THAT would be a real shame.

When I was going through it, there was a sale as well, but a few people could only afford a dollar or two. Some of them apologized, but I was happy with EVERY donation.

NOBODY was being coerced, or threatened with blacklisting.

They were happy to give, to help a fellow Warrior.

This isn't my thread, but I truly hope everybody understands my comments are being made in the hopes that we can get MORE people to donate to Kim's cause.

A chance to SAVE A LIFE??? How can you beat that?

      All the best,

Sal hit the Nail on the head. The intention was to arouse the spirit that wants to jump up and say "Hell Yeah Im a warrior.." Guess Ive played in one too many bars.

We've had threads like this before when the spirit was aroused
quite voluntarily and without it being forced on people.
But you never gave that a chance to happen.

No prob... I happen to be working on a liquidation deal right now with one of my students... lots of work... I work alot because I support two family's right now, not under one roof, actually two entirely separate households... I have an offline business and online... cant let up, but hopefully later that will calm down some as the elements of my overall business model start to amalgamate which has taken shape alot this year with TMF... Thanks alot to WF.

This is how I met Sal a couple of years ago... doing export in the wee hours and surfing WF in between.

Not to excuse, in anyway whatsover... I want to drop my sword, but just so you know, the original intention was so that the people running the WA acct could be anonymous and avoid being spotlighted as individuals instead of a group, but unfortunately people recognized the group members anyway...

So,understanding your feelings, just wanted to let you know that intention wasnt anything scammy.

Its probably better for the cause if people use their names anyway, we have convinced a couple of our bigger name contributors to release their WSO's independently as well as with this bundle...

So next week there may be more activity, but less interruption to the forum. I for one am willing to accept that mistakes in approaches can be made... but more than anything I agree with Merlyn, that there are so many different motivations for giving , if people just did it out of their hearts and called up when they saw ads on tv... Then I wouldn't have been managing 100 fundraisers on the Phone 5 years ago raising million of dollars...

No, it took pro fundraisers to call the public and guilt trip the hell out of them to raise millions of dollars for charity, because the volunteers were all "begging" and that only appeals top a very very small demographic.

Different pitching approaches were used to appeal to the diverse demographics...

Most of the public hate fundraisers... But the public's inability to give on their own without resorting to all kinds of tactics makes professional fund raising necessary...

Granted this campaign was pulled off the cuff by an army of 13 little colonies that could (in a manner of speaking)... roughly and quickly put together...

However, Kim doesnt have time for a 6 month incremental PR climbing strategy...

We are doing what we can... I do know though that it has gotten out of hand and I hope it hasnt hurt Kim more than helped him.

Ps. In all fairness , we took a chance on seeing if a group acct could work, and admin approved and took that chance with us... and we all knew the potential for disaster but all parties agreed to try and avoid the inevitable. In the end that system didnt work perfectly.

Well, I haven't written copy for fundraisers before, but the guilt trip thing seemed to turn a lot of people off.

More importantly ... making this a buy the WSO at $97 makes it impossible for people who would like to help out in a way that they can afford, impossible. Make a very prominent DONATE button for those who don't have $97 to spare but would donate a smaller amount. I know I said it before, but I think it's key to getting more voluntary donations.

I know a lot of hard work and time has gone into this and it's an important thing ... it's Kim's life we're talking about. How much do you think you could raise if all active members of this forum donated just $1 or $2. Quite a bit of money. Make it easy for them to do that.

I bought the WSO, but I'm on slow Internet connection, so I have no use for products that I can't download. I didn't want the products. Only wanted to donate to Kim. A lot of people will feel the same. A donate button that allows you to name the amount would be more effective, IMO.

John has been working on the WSO. It was put up in a rush and is still being worked on.

I'm not sure how many times this needs to be stressed -- BUT -- this is about a saving a life. WE don't know how much time we have - the money has to be there when the kidney is. SO the WSO was put up as fast as we could get it out there. WE KNOW it needs more work. We didn't have time to sit around and think about it and plan, etc - Kim just got back and the list and is close to getting a kidney. Several people have been tested for a match already --- TIME is the factor in this issue - get it up and out then worry about tweaking. And that is what has been done.

We need people to stop worrying about methods and start worrying about the cause. If people can't afford the WSO as it stands, they might be able to afford a partial package when they are made. In the meantime - those who can afford the whole shot are giving and bringing Kim closer to being able to live --- and that is what this is all about.

In the meantime -- until we can get this thing tweaked, those who can't afford the WSO can still donate directly to Kim at:

Kidney Transplant Medical Expenses by Kim Winfrey - GoFundMe

And I can gladly report that our efforts are bringing in money at that donation site.

No matter what you think of the Project team - keep supporting Kim. That's all we are in this for. It's not being a good time. Trust me on that one.

With any project, hindsight is 20/20. I can't think of anything that I have ever done where I didn't look back and see things that I could've done differently.

Any large undertaking is no different. There will always be ways to improve the process, the copy, coordination efforts, etc.

Anyone can sit back and say woulda/coulda/shoulda.

None of that matters at this point. This project was a huge undertaking and it was put together - literally - in days. There was not time to sit back and analyze and tweak and modify.

                      But now it is done.

Instead of picking apart whatever aspect of the project you think should have been done differently, can we agree to just move ahead and help Kim?

We need people to blog about this. We need people to tweet about this.

Please - donate one line out of the 5 or 6 you are allowed to have in your signature to help Kim.

Instead of saying, "You should do xyz," please volunteer and say, "Let me help you do xyz."

But you never gave that a chance to happen.

Sorry, but the fake ID puts me right off.
There is no excuse for that whatsoever.
I like to deal with people that are out in the open.
You seem to be very knowledgeable -- too bad you are using every bit of your energy to criticize instead of to help.

Warrior Allstars is NOT A FAKE ID - it's a unifying ID - because there are LOT of people who are helping with this effort and we didn't want any one to stand out because everyone who helps is important. We needed ONE account to handle all of the work, too because of the WSO - did you think about that one? How about the PM's - do you know how much time it was taking us just to communicate back and forth about actual help that was offered and suggestions made, where we were in the project etc without that PM box?

So YOU sir are wrong. Sorry about that, but you are dead WRONG.

I don't like seeing a Warrior who has spent weeks of endless hours to help someone in desperate need chewed apart by people who are so damned worried about how things are being done that they have completely lost track of the purpose here. We're trying to save a life, guy. But you keep right on chewing because lord knows that is what is going to help us reach our goal here.

Since our "FAKE ID" is so offensive, I will post my name at the bottom of each post --- but The Warrior Allstars account is staying open because we need it to stay organized. We don't have hundreds of man hours to do things the hard way so folks won't have one more thing to bitch at us about. Okay?

              John -

Not many people would take the initiative to try and coordinate a fund-raising effort of this magnitude.

You not only tried, but you succeeded in pulling together a WSO of such magnitude - you should be very proud of that accomplishment, because I certainly am proud of you for doing it.

You helped to rally others around the cause to help pull this WSO together.

You've helped to coordinate the WSO itself, the affiliate letters, the sales copy, the publicity, and so much more - all in a very short period of time.

Thank you for showing true Warrior Spirit.

I' apologize for pissing you off - it was not our intent. But perception does seem to matter more to people than reality.

now folks back to our regular news - in case no one is keeping up with current events - Kim is going to DIE unless he gets help.

was the OP a bit draconian - yes. Could some take offense - yes.
I think we've beaten that one to death. So Agreed - quilty as charged now lets move on.

So how about a little less bitching and a little more helping?

don't like the op - offer to re-write it.

        can't afford 97$ - how about 1$?

can't afford a dollar? How about tweeting, face booking, doing some sort of advertising?

How about doing anything to help out rather than belly aching about how offended you are....

basically - Grow up people. Constructive criticism is appreciated. Take a look at Mike, Suzzanne's or Steven's posts - critical but helpful too - they are much respected and appreciated.

I think the words I used were 'Anybody around here talkin about how they make money so well..." should be on this list. Understandably many cant afford to, but if you are saying you can teach people to make a million dollars and your name aint on this list, to me you aint a warrior. thats just me, if you are broke its another thing... didnt mean to come off as judgmental. just MHO

      Thanks for the clarification, John.

Reading it as a whole, the tone seemed to say "If you don't buy the $97 product, and don't list your name below, then none of us will buy your WSO."

But, re-reading it after seeing your explanation, I see what you're saying, and agree with it.

Come on, $47k ain't no small change...so we're going to need some Warriors to really step up. Based on my personal experience with Warrior generosity, I believe we CAN do it!

I reckon i should stop pushin people, but if you were seeing what we are seeing on this end... the perspective would be different. theres people on these threads saying they are buying for props and there aint no sales comin through...

After having raised VERY VERY LITERALLY MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS of charity dollars on the phone with my rooms... I can tell you from a position of absolute expertise that peoples motivations for giving are very diverse...

    Theres a

    A: Beg Pitch (least effective).
    B: Theres an accountability pitch
C: There is a social positioning pitch
D: There is an Authority pitch ( People give just because you are calling for "Law enforcement" even though they hate cops.

Does the charirty care about theior motivations... No it only cares about saving kids lives...

All of these types of things need to be considered in presenting...

Its still marketing, even though its charity...they all have to be considered to get the optimum result... But after having raised Millions of dollars for charity... I dont know much.

Anyway, any sales pressure I just built up right now, you guys just released with those comments...

So everybody feels good... Wheres the 50K thats gonna save Kim?

    Thats all I care about.

Perhaps I need to take some time off.

To make it easier, put a link to a donation button and highlight that if you can afford one buck, two bucks, five bucks ... please donate. The way the thread reads at first glance is to buy the WSO at $97 and $97 is a lot of money to some ...

Your effort I'm sure is greatly appreciated.

Great Idea Sue, thanks, You are right thats another rule of fundraising we are forgetting... offering OPTIONS, so everyone can be included.

Heck if 50,000 people would give us ONE dollar we'd give them the best package they ever got. Doesnt matter about the price... just the end result.

        Excellent point.

I may need to lay off for awhile. See you guys monday.

Sorry about the accusing tone... The "salesman" gets ahold of me and just want to hit EVERY BUTTON!

PS. Thank you Michael for at least ATTEMPTING to understand, and actually understanding. I get your point too. Much appreciated.

First of all, John, I'm sorry if I mistook your meaning in the OP. I think it's downright admirable and highly generous of you to organize this gigantic WSO and I am hoping that there is a load of sales on it. I know your heart is definitely in the right place and I posted only to kind of give you a head's up on some of the feelings engendered.

Second of all - am I reading that quote above correctly? Are you saying that people are saying they're buying when they're not? If so, there is your blacklist, in my opinion. That's just plain wrong - pure and simple.

If anyone reading this has done that, I hope to God you are never in the situation Kim is but if you should find yourself there - I hope you get treated the same way.

If anyone has done that, they are NOT a Warrior. Just signing up here doesn't make you a Warrior. Your heart does, your actions do and your integrity does. And if you can do that, you don't have integrity or heart.

Now come on everyone - buy the WSO if you can afford it and donate whatever you can if you can't afford it. For real Warriors, $50K is a cakewalk.

Oh brother...I was going to stay out of this thread but maybe my words can
help put all of this into perspective.

I can see both sides of this (the high pressure pitch vs the bad taste in mouth)

Unfortunately, in life, perception is reality, whether we meant something or
                not.

Some people WILL perceive this as extortion and in poor taste while others
will see it as "do whatever you can to save a fellow Warrior's life." Neither
side is wrong or right. It is simply as I said...perception.

Regardless of what was meant by this thread, there will be those who will
respond positively and those who will be offended.

Just like with copywriting or anything to do with IM...you will NEVER please
everybody. The minute you try, you please nobody.

All that matters is the end result.

In this case, according to the reports by John (people saying that they
donated but no sales coming in) it appears that this tactic has been less
                than optimal.

That's a REAL reality, whether or not you agree with the tactic.

Personally, I'm not going to comment as to what I donated, when, how
much and so on. To me, that's personal. I'm not here for accolades and
for people to say "Hey Steve, what a guy." And I told that to Kim in a PM.

In fact, I told him that whatever and whenever I donate anything, if I do,
is to remain between he and I. I hate making a spectacle out of these
things. I'm a private person and when I do things for people, I like to do
them anonymously. Those of you who I have helped, know what I'm
                talking about.

Yes, this thread put me off a bit...but I get it.

Kim, who is one of my favorite people at this forum, is fighting for his life
and can't afford the luxury of gentle tactics.

If it were me, I don't know what I'd do other than be buried in my room
half sick from depression and the other half sick from outright fear of my
                own mortality.

So folks, before you start tossing stones at the tactics used in this thread,
please understand...a man is fighting for his life. So if you feel that some
of the "copy" here was a little heavy, it came from concern and real love
                for a terrific guy.

                Personal Kim story.

My first interaction with Kim was in OT. Somehow the subject of music
trivia came up and we were both trying to outdo each other. I thought I
was battling it out with a woman. My whole life, I never knew any Kims
that weren't women. (I lead a sheltered life)

Anyway, he was keeping up with me trivia for trivia until I finally stumped
him with "The Chesapeake Jukebox Band." It was shortly after that I found
out he was a guy when I made a comment in the thread to another member
that "she" really gave me a hard time.

                Boy was I embarrassed.

Since that time, I have grown to love Kim like a brother and I DON'T want to
EVER live to see the day that he is not with us.

So PLEASE find it in your heart to put aside the "copy" as written and
understand that this is literally life and death here.

And for those who said that they donated and didn't...shame on you.

That's all I have to say on this subject.

There is a lady in the other thread Diane S that was giving the buttons/graphics if you made a donation (I think that is how it was)

I see now that her nice graphic is gone but if you ask her she must still have them.

Yes, this is a super idea, don't let people think that the only way to help out is to buy the WSO. As stated in the OP there are 100,000 or more people on this forum and I'm sure most of them can afford to donate a buck or two. That would add up to a huge amount!

      John,

My intention was to help. That's all.

When I initally read the original post, I didn't see any of the 4 types of pitches you mentioned.

I saw it as a form of low-key extortion. That's what concerned me. I see that was NOT the intention of the OP. However, it looks like others were seeing it the sme way, so there's a chance that some people weren't donating because they misread it the same way.

The way I was originally reading it wasn't building up any kind of sales pressure, it was building up hard feelings, BUT now that you explained it more clearly, I think it will help

Just know that my intentions were pure and that my heart is in the right place.

Let me preface this by saying that I did not write the copy nor was I involved in its conception so the following is only MY OPINION.

I agree with the concerns raised by T. Hogg, Michael, Tina, and Suzanne, all of whom I have found to be generous and caring warriors.

However, there is a certain amount of disappointment and frustration among those who have worked so hard to find ways to raise funds for Kim.

There have been some bright spots which have really impressed me:
    • Newbies who have just joined the forum have helped by either contributing financially or by posting sig links or sharing on Twitter and Facebook.
    • Warriors, new and old, who have never interacted with Kim, have stepped up to help.
    • People like, Hey Sal, who are busy with their own businesess and may not have extra money to contribute, who have contributed products, time and energy. And, we all know, TIME IS MONEY!

But then there are others who tout their marketing prowess, who use this very forum to make a lot of money, who have not stepped up to help at all.

It's their right not to do so. But it is our right to do business with like-minded people.

It's the old adage that we do business with those we "know, like, and trust".

The point is not to blackball anyone but rather to celebrate those who have contributed, in whatever way they are able.

This has become a marketing project. WE ARE MARKETING KIM'S CAUSE. That means that some tactics will fail, others will succeed, and some will piss people off.

But if it pisses them off enough to talk about it, or better yet, contribute then I say it is well worth it!

Steven, I see where you're coming from. But the problem wasn't in the copy, it was in some of us missing what it REALLY said.

John explained it well, and there was NO extortion or threats going on. That was my fault for not quite getting the full meaning of what was said. A simple case of miscommunication, as it were.

But...I truly believe more good will come out of clarifying this misunderstanding. I was watching the thread for quite a while before I commented, and the views/replies were (in my opinion) fairly low...now it looks like it's picking up more of the steam it deserves.

So, there is no issue with the copy...at least not now.

I'm human. I misread it. I commented, and got clarification. It's all good, but now I hope it gets even better.

@ Steven, Hi man! I love seein your face around here and the new pic is fabbo...

Wanted to say something... there are WF icons who have been around for a long time, then there are WF one hit wonders who came in and caused a stir then messed up like I may be now, and you never hear from them again under the same username.

Then there are guys who's popularity comes and goes... then there are guys who get a hit product or two, and even after they come back down they are still gonna be here... but their "hit" status doesnt last long... 15 minutes of fame.

I happen to have a hit product or two right now... and I know that nobody stays on top forever... What little status I have, for the little time its here... I just want to use for something meaningful...

So, while there is a side of the coin which is very noble that says "Dont tell anyone the good you are doing because its prideful..." theres another side that says "Your name being on the top of 1600 customers heads right now, could be an influence, and so I use my name for whatever its worth for that purpose, my customers wont buy from me if Im anonymous...

Next year there may be abother telemarketing guy... but this year, everybody is sayin its me... and I want to use that on the warrior forum for more than money.

Not tryin g to get people to say :"What a guy" just trying to Milk my status for a good cause. Because I can make money without any status at all.

Stephen, putting my name on this hasnt helped me make any friends... if anything Im getting pegged as the guy whos collecting pats on the back.

But tomorrow who cares what people think, status comes and goes... KIM ONLY HAS ONE CHANCE!

I was also brought up to do good anonymously and I respect people who do so.

However, there's also an admonition against hiding your light under a bushel which can apply in a case like this.

If I tell people what little I've done for Kim, it's only to motivate them to do what they can.

Sometimes the excitement of a group working towards a similar goal can be very contagious.

There is a guy on the Net who writes some of the best sales letters I have ever read. One thing that he teaches about relationship building:

It is that the normal reaction to what he calls 'Convincing Behavior' is RESISTANCE.

While there is a thin line here with marketing, I do think it is true with begging and bullying.

I like the old school - give em the information and let them come to you if they want more. It is a whole different ball game trying to convince someone they need to do something vs giving them what they are asking you for.

I know this does not fit all the buttons in this debate. However I still feel it is relevant.

I also know that anyone who blames John for anything or accuses him of anything other than kindness and altruism is wrong. Period. John has been working overtime trying to do something really good for someone else who needs it. Don't shoot the messenger.

By the way, John how is the new baby? Remember him? LOL?

It is quotes like...
that have turned a lot of people off.

    Take care!
    @ Chris

John, I just don't know WHO I am anymore; obviously, I also don't know which name I am posting under either! Thad is now talking like Chris and Chris will be talking like Thad... what a life!

Anyway, John, nothing I said was meant as an attack on your or your writing. What you are doing is admirable and you should be proud of what you are doing.

I was going to just make a donation instead of buying the product but I DID go ahead and buy the WSO because after looking at it again, I just couldn't pass up such a value... the value of helping someone like Kim!

Seriously, if anyone can afford the $97 WSO, you should jump all over this one. The value to cost ration is incredible. What you are getting in this WSO is worth a LOT more than what you are paying for it! I bought this thing several hours ago and I'm STILL downloading the stuff. Anyone who buys this is going to find out that this $97 is the best investment you will have EVER made! Not only will you be helping someone but you will get multiple products that WILL teach you to make money. I will say it again... it is an INCREDIBLE offer!

      Take care!

    Hey - before I go........

To everyone who HAS donated or is going to = whether to the WSO or the donation link - Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To everyone who has gone the extra mile to help us with text - links, back links, blogs, shouts or anything else --- I LOVE you. You are what has made it possible for us to go on. You mean the world to us. And you will never know how deeply I feel what I say here.

Okay then folks -- The post I made from the Allstars account has been deleted. Not sure if I like that or not -- but I have calmed down now.

John has been working on that WSO for around 16 hours a day for several weeks. Once it went up we have been deluged with pm's that he did it wrong. I know some have bought it -- and we are so grateful to you - yet we know that the offer is so valuable that it should speak on its own terms, too, no matter how the copy stands. Yet - there were SO MANY pm's that it was done wrong, that he went back to work already dead out tired to fix it, even though he needed rest. You see - we aren't sure how much time we have. The money has to be there when the kidney is there. Period. We can bicker - point, criticize, be offended, elated, we can feel what we want and think what we want -- but the bottom line is the money HAS to be there when the kidney is there. That could be tomorrow, it could be months. We have to do what we can NOW.

Anyhow - frustrated and dead tired, John posted here not in an attempt not to shame, blame, point fingers or to allow anyone to plump their ego. He posted in an attempt to fire the good old fashioned Warrior spirit - and raise the cry so all would want to join in - not just to buy the WSO but to pump the publicity through the roof - so people would come from all over the net to grab a good deal while doing a good deed. We see from the criticism that didn't happen.

He's taking a much needed rest for a day or two, but the WSO will be getting a facelift.

Now I have to ask a favor and from all this roar, I'm almost afraid to do so.
Here it is though. If you help with this - by the time that WSO is revamped, we may be able to get some much needed media publicity - so PLEASE - work with me on this one.

We are trying to get some major players in media interested in this thing. To do so we need a show of support.
I'm not asking for money now -- There will be no names mentioned for dollar contributions. I need a show of support though Promotional activity.
I'm asking for bloggers and linkers, etc.
I need each one of you to do at least one thing to promote this cause. Then I need you to pm me that you did it.
This isn't for your ego. It's so I can set up a thank you page on our Facebook page that will look like an online version of war and peace from the length of the list. If this goes right, nobody is going to bother to read names anyway because there will be just too many to bother with.

What I am doing is building a thank you list of contributers - for products donated and for promotional activities. I want a list of every person who has put a link in their sig - has tweeted a link - has done a blog - has bookmarked or backlinked this cause in any way shape or form.

There will be thanks in two categories - one for product donations, and one for promotional efforts. The more people that I can put on that list, the more interested the media will be in this cause. If we don't have a whole lot of names - it's just another fundraiser and the media will yawn. We have to make this an unusual show of support from an online community if we're going to get media to pick us up. This should not be objectionable to you to have your name on a list for promotional effort. I can understand wanting your name out of dollar donations - I always donate anonymous myself. But there is no reason for anyone to object to having their name on a thank you list for promotional efforts.

I don't want this list to have one lie on it - so if you will please at least put the WSO in your sig and/or either bookmark the WSO page or tweet it, that's all I ask. One tweet or one link to make the list a Godzilla of a list. Spread the word, too - we need as many Warriors on this as we can muster. If the list is too small, the media aren't going to give us a second glance and we can't afford that to happen if we are going to pull this off.

I'll be compiling the list over the next few days on my own and hope to have it ready for Facebook by the time the WSO is ironed out and has been perfected. So that's it. Just do ONE promotional act and then pm me - save me time having to read pm's and just write "done" in the subject line. once I see that, I'm not even going to open the pm to read it, I won't have time. Spread the word. This may be some people's only way to help -- but it's a doozie, so man your battle stations - this is war.

I have already bought this WSO...it is going to take awhile to come back and give an honest review...there is so much stuff from so many people..
it is as simple as that.

Hard for me to believe anyone could come off as negative, in something like this.

I go away for two freakin days to Indio Ca. (don't go) and something so worthwhile dissolves into a debate?

Anyone new who is reading this must be so confused.

Let me put it to you, sans semantics.

Kim is in need of help...he is a good man. Do you really think this many top Warriors and top people in IM, would waste time and reputation for nothing?

You get a WSO that consists of Dr. Mani...who if you don't know who he is...educate yourself...search his posts...worth reading alone.

Kevin Riley...some of the easiest to understand 'newbie' stuff around...

John Durham...if you wish to connect off line and online...

        and on and on,

if you can't recognize a true win win... then you never will.

On top of all else this WSO is going to be continually added too.

If you cannot afford the wso... then donate a dollar... it adds up.

And to my favorite person on this board...
Hey Sal ..if you were only 10 minutes younger.....and I was 10 minutes older...:p
edit* (sorry Sal.... I meant ten MINUTES younger...too much desert sun yesterday...)
        (I'm in trouble for that)

you just keep on spoutin truth the way you see it...
        You go Girl...
Oh yea.... I ever pictured myself saying that.

Cannot believe this kind of deal...for both sides... has ended up in a debate.

Put the BS aside people...this is one that is no BS.

Well be glad I'm not 10 years younger -- I don't wanna do another lifesaver, okay?

David -- Glad to see ya with us. I'm sure you have more than enough on your plate with your own sweetheart's medical bills. Having tumors removed doesn't come cheap even with insurance. But glad to have you pitch in some shouting here and there. May I suggest putting the donation link and the WSO link in your sig? That would help while you are tooling around the forum.

We have said that a million times but I respect tackett so I will take it from him and publicly say lm sorry lets get over it, Im gonna email Dr Mani and see if he will rewrite the copy, none of us are too ignorant to see beyond this to the real issue and at this moment our greatest hope can only be that Kim makes it through the night.

    I'll pledge $20 for a donation.

I have to sell the idea to my wife, Heysal can confirm how stubborn my wife can be. And she is really stubborn with our money as I am the only income in our family.

But if I can't sell this idea to my wife, I really don't belong here among Warriors.

I'll make Friday my goal for donating.

      You are right Andie

I made my wife sound bad. She is just very good at making us live within our means. We are not in debt and her plan keeps us on track.

To tell you the truth though, I don't like our lifestyle, and I don't like not being able to help.

        David,

As has been said throughout this thread - there are more than just monetary donations. Spending time getting the word out, you can reach people that could help that others could not reach.

That's as good as giving cash

        Mike

P.S. Not being is debt IS a good lifestyle. Trust me - I have seen both sides of THAT coin.

  • You had me at the first mention of kidney. I bought it and although I may be a new warrior, I certainly know you cannot put a value on a life. $97 is nothing compared to that. I didn't even bother reading the descriptions of the contents of the package, which are downloading while I am typing this.

My name is Deborah and I am proud to be included in this thread to help Kim. Now, may his prayers be answered; I'll help in that department too, and hopefully he gets it soon. Thanks for starting the thread. It's always great to help someone who really needs it.
