One concern -- does the amount we're trying to raise take into consideration the potential tax impact that Kim might face down the road?

I'd hate to see us saddle Kim with a tax bill he cannot afford to pay.

Can we funnel the money through a 501(c)(3) tax exempt charity to evade taxes?

I'll volunteer to read up on this issue if it's a valid concern.

I could be wrong, but I think there are some 501(c)(3)'s that are setup to enable people to make donations to a named individual without the funds being taxed.

I bought the package. Not for the stuff, but for Kim. I'm on slow Internet connection and probably won't be able to take advantage of a lot of it. But this is about Kim ... not stuff.

I bought the package...I knew the stuff would be awesome...I don't know KIM , but I know of the Warrior Forum and if The movers and Shakers says we need some help for KIM...then I help.

It's just the right thing to do , it's my community and I will do my share to support it.

It as supported me so much already I have no idea if I will ever be able to repay my debt to it.

I'm glad I'm able to afford to do it. Not everyone can. A lot of people would if they could. Some are struggling to make dollars here. Just wanted to say that so that people who can't afford it don't feel like they are "not family" or "not a Warrior".

This is not going to be very popular; in fact, it may get deleted but it still needs to be said...

I have been in the WF for a very long time. I have given a lot over the years and I have received a lot over the years. I look at the WF in a familial way and it is a great place.

I don't know Kim but I understand his situation is not good. We as warriors NEED to help as much as we can and do whatever we can; there is no question about that!

I would encourage EVERY single member of the WF to donate at least $1 to this cause. That would be several hundred thousand dollars to help Kim with his financial burden. If you have ever benefited from this forum, you should do what you can.

BUT... I think the wrong tone has been taken in this thread and it has hindered more than helped. It is quotes like...
that have turned a lot of people off.

I have a lot of Skype chats that have a lot of people in them. I have seen a LOT of very distinct distaste for comments like that. It has turned people off.

I know there is a lot of passion invested in this desire to help a fellow warrior but it won't do anyone any good to alienate other people in the attempt to make them donate to a worthy cause.

Let's not SHAME anyone into donating. Let's not try to make people feel like outcasts here. Let's make a positive feeling from a negative situation. Let's make the tone one of coming together for a common cause.

As I have said before, I am asking ANYONE who has EVER gained ANYTHING from this forum to help Kim in WHATEVER way you can. Buy the WSO or just donate a dollar if that is all you can do. We have the numbers here in the WF to make something special happen.

I probably won't buy the WSO but I WILL make a donation of some sort to do my part. Each one of us needs to understand that WE may be in the same position at some point and it might be US that needs the help. Good deeds reap a plentiful bounty so let's see what we can do to help Kim!

After having raised VERY VERY LITERALLY MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS of charity dollars on the phone with my rooms... I can tell you from a position of absolute expertise that peoples motivations for giving are very diverse...

Theres a

A: Beg Pitch (least effective).
B: Theres an accountability pitch
C: There is a social positioning pitch
D: There is an Authority pitch ( People give just because you are calling for "Law enforcement" even though they hate cops.

Does the charirty care about theior motivations... No it only cares about saving kids lives...


All of these types of things need to be considered in presenting...

Its still marketing, even though its charity...they all have to be considered to get the optimum result... But after having raised Millions of dollars for charity... I dont know much.

John, your passion is admirable and you are an incredible person!

Let me preface this by saying that I did not write the copy nor was I involved in its conception so the following is only MY OPINION.

I agree with the concerns raised by T. Hogg, Michael, Tina, and Suzanne, all of whom I have found to be generous and caring warriors.

However, there is a certain amount of disappointment and frustration among those who have worked so hard to find ways to raise funds for Kim.

There have been some bright spots which have really impressed me:

• Newbies who have just joined the forum have helped by either contributing financially or by posting sig links or sharing on Twitter and Facebook.
• Warriors, new and old, who have never interacted with Kim, have stepped up to help.
• People like, Hey Sal, who are busy with their own businesess and may not have extra money to contribute, who have contributed products, time and energy. And, we all know, TIME IS MONEY!

But then there are others who tout their marketing prowess, who use this very forum to make a lot of money, who have not stepped up to help at all.

It's their right not to do so. But it is our right to do business with like-minded people.

It's the old adage that we do business with those we "know, like, and trust".

The point is not to blackball anyone but rather to celebrate those who have contributed, in whatever way they are able.

This has become a marketing project. WE ARE MARKETING KIM'S CAUSE. That means that some tactics will fail, others will succeed, and some will piss people off.

But if it pisses them off enough to talk about it, or better yet, contribute then I say it is well worth it!

Steven, I see where you're coming from. But the problem wasn't in the copy, it was in some of us missing what it REALLY said.

John explained it well, and there was NO extortion or threats going on. That was my fault for not quite getting the full meaning of what was said. A simple case of miscommunication, as it were.

But...I truly believe more good will come out of clarifying this misunderstanding. I was watching the thread for quite a while before I commented, and the views/replies were (in my opinion) fairly low...now it looks like it's picking up more of the steam it deserves.

So, there is no issue with the copy...at least not now.

I'm human. I misread it. I commented, and got clarification. It's all good, but now I hope it gets even better.

Wanted to say something... there are WF icons who have been around for a long time, then there are WF one hit wonders who came in and caused a stir then messed up like I may be now, and you never hear from them again under the same username.

Then there are guys who's popularity comes and goes... then there are guys who get a hit product or two, and even after they come back down they are still gonna be here... but their "hit" status doesnt last long... 15 minutes of fame.

I happen to have a hit product or two right now... and I know that nobody stays on top forever... What little status I have, for the little time its here... I just want to use for something meaningful...

So, while there is a side of the coin which is very noble that says "Dont tell anyone the good you are doing because its prideful..." theres another side that says "Your name being on the top of 1600 customers heads right now, could be an influence, and so I use my name for whatever its worth for that purpose, my customers wont buy from me if Im anonymous...

Next year there may be abother telemarketing guy... but this year, everybody is sayin its me... and I want to use that on the warrior forum for more than money.

Not tryin g to get people to say :"What a guy" just trying to Milk my status for a good cause. Because I can make money without any status at all.

There is a guy on the Net who writes some of the best sales letters I have ever read. One thing that he teaches about relationship building:

It is that the normal reaction to what he calls 'Convincing Behavior' is RESISTANCE.

While there is a thin line here with marketing, I do think it is true with begging and bullying.

I like the old school - give em the information and let them come to you if they want more. It is a whole different ball game trying to convince someone they need to do something vs giving them what they are asking you for.

I know this does not fit all the buttons in this debate. However I still feel it is relevant.

I also know that anyone who blames John for anything or accuses him of anything other than kindness and altruism is wrong. Period. John has been working overtime trying to do something really good for someone else who needs it. Don't shoot the messenger.

By the way, John how is the new baby? Remember him? LOL?

It would be great if some of these pro's who dont like our copy would volunteer to WRITE IT.

Okay then folks -- The post I made from the Allstars account has been deleted. Not sure if I like that or not -- but I have calmed down now.

John has been working on that WSO for around 16 hours a day for several weeks. Once it went up we have been deluged with pm's that he did it wrong. I know some have bought it -- and we are so grateful to you - yet we know that the offer is so valuable that it should speak on its own terms, too, no matter how the copy stands. Yet - there were SO MANY pm's that it was done wrong, that he went back to work already dead out tired to fix it, even though he needed rest. You see - we aren't sure how much time we have. The money has to be there when the kidney is there. Period. We can bicker - point, criticize, be offended, elated, we can feel what we want and think what we want -- but the bottom line is the money HAS to be there when the kidney is there. That could be tomorrow, it could be months. We have to do what we can NOW.

Anyhow - frustrated and dead tired, John posted here not in an attempt not to shame, blame, point fingers or to allow anyone to plump their ego. He posted in an attempt to fire the good old fashioned Warrior spirit - and raise the cry so all would want to join in - not just to buy the WSO but to pump the publicity through the roof - so people would come from all over the net to grab a good deal while doing a good deed. We see from the criticism that didn't happen.

He's taking a much needed rest for a day or two, but the WSO will be getting a facelift.

Now I have to ask a favor and from all this roar, I'm almost afraid to do so.
Here it is though. If you help with this - by the time that WSO is revamped, we may be able to get some much needed media publicity - so PLEASE - work with me on this one.

We are trying to get some major players in media interested in this thing. To do so we need a show of support.
I'm not asking for money now -- There will be no names mentioned for dollar contributions. I need a show of support though Promotional activity.
I'm asking for bloggers and linkers, etc.
I need each one of you to do at least one thing to promote this cause. Then I need you to pm me that you did it.
This isn't for your ego. It's so I can set up a thank you page on our Facebook page that will look like an online version of war and peace from the length of the list. If this goes right, nobody is going to bother to read names anyway because there will be just too many to bother with.

What I am doing is building a thank you list of contributers - for products donated and for promotional activities. I want a list of every person who has put a link in their sig - has tweeted a link - has done a blog - has bookmarked or backlinked this cause in any way shape or form.

There will be thanks in two categories - one for product donations, and one for promotional efforts. The more people that I can put on that list, the more interested the media will be in this cause. If we don't have a whole lot of names - it's just another fundraiser and the media will yawn. We have to make this an unusual show of support from an online community if we're going to get media to pick us up. This should not be objectionable to you to have your name on a list for promotional effort. I can understand wanting your name out of dollar donations - I always donate anonymous myself. But there is no reason for anyone to object to having their name on a thank you list for promotional efforts.

I don't want this list to have one lie on it - so if you will please at least put the WSO in your sig and/or either bookmark the WSO page or tweet it, that's all I ask. One tweet or one link to make the list a Godzilla of a list. Spread the word, too - we need as many Warriors on this as we can muster. If the list is too small, the media aren't going to give us a second glance and we can't afford that to happen if we are going to pull this off.

I'll be compiling the list over the next few days on my own and hope to have it ready for Facebook by the time the WSO is ironed out and has been perfected. So that's it. Just do ONE promotional act and then pm me - save me time having to read pm's and just write "done" in the subject line. once I see that, I'm not even going to open the pm to read it, I won't have time. Spread the word. This may be some people's only way to help -- but it's a doozie, so man your battle stations - this is war.
