Harry Chapin wrote Cats in the Cradle...but I think Cat Stevens had an album titled Cat's Cradle

Anyway,

I like Indie/Folk Music like William Fitzsimmons, Alexi Murdoch, Jose Gonzalez, Amos Lee, etc

Huge DMB fan, Radiohead, old Smashing Pumpkins, 90's rock, and classical/ambient music.

Only music I don't really like is modern country and Rap.

Classic Rock, Blues, Some Country...I can listen to anything but Rap.

It's funny, when I was in my teens and 20's I could listen to anything except Country.

Of course, we didn't have Rap back then. I wasn't much into Disco, either.

I've been hooked on alternative rock since high school. It's what encouraged me to start playing music in the first place. Now playing and writing is my passion and why I strive to make money online.

I listen to bands like Our Lady Peace, Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Thousand Foot Krutch, Theory of A Deadman, etc.

But I'm a lover of music on a whole. I will listen to most anything besides most rap and r&b. Just never got into it.

Just about anything but rap, mind you I don't think that qualifies as music unless it's Eminem, who, strangely I do like.

If I had to ban all music except one, I thinkd I'd keep Rock in it's various forms; Floyd, Led Zep, Bad Company, Sensational Alex Harvey, Deep Purple, Journey, G&R etc.

I'm into anything progressive, space rock, stonner stuff (QOTSA, KYUSS, TOOL), progressive techno and wacky electronic music. Basically anything that works great when you're trashed.

well, not really, cause I'm not that kinda guy, but I do love Little Feat too.
For me it's most any and everything except rap (which is crap) and the slop they call country nowadays.
I do like real country though which is not like this maudlin pop with a twang they call contry nowadays.

Too many different kinds of music to list here.

As a musician, I've learned to appreciate and love just about anything.

So maybe it would be easier to list what I don't like.

Rap, or anything remotely related such as hip hop, etc.

And having said that, I do like some songs with rap elements such as
Lincoln Park's "In The End", which is ironically, one of my favorite songs from
that year.

I can listen to classical one minute and Dragonforce the next.

I consider myself very lucky to be able to appreciate so many different
musical genres.

I actually feel sorry for people who only listen to one kind of music as
they are missing out on so much.

But then again, on the other hand, they don't see it that way as you
don't miss what you don't know.

Anyway, that's my contribution to this thread.

Music is an art and art is subject to taste. I tend to listen to whatever I like and the music I like is broad in taste. From classical to rap, salsa, straight ahead jazz, rock, neo soul whatever it doesn't matter. If it sounds good to me I will listen to it pretty much.
