We are just one month away from an epic adventure for Warriors - the third annual Warrior meeting in Raleigh. And the greatest part is the networking folks! 100% warriors (yikes, didn't think about that - an entire hotel filled with intoxicated warriors - keep a DVR on CNN folks! you don't know what may happen.

I actually live outside Raleigh so will be around the hotel on Friday for lunch, dinner, and evening drinks! So if you're getting in early on Friday and want to grab lunch or dinner just let me know. A lot of stuff happens before and after these events. I'm usually painfully shy but will be stepping out of my comfort zone to meet and greet and get some deals done!

See ya all there!

You know I will be there...along with some of the coolest warriors on the planet...

We have the guys from AirusMedia a hosting the "KEGGER" party on Saturday night...just like they did at PP this last February...

Also James Jones just contacted me and is going to donate a thumb drive to all the attendees with 2 secret programs that he won't even tell me about!!

    It's gonna be EPIC...

See you all there in a few weeks...

      Jack,

My flight is scheduled to land in RDU at 1:40 so I figure I should be to the hotel by 3 pm, even if the shuttle is slow. So I'll be around for dinner.

Where are the details for this?

I only ask because I'd like to fly out to the next one and meet some of my friends across the pond.

It'd be great to meet everyone and just the thought of a hotel filled with booze attracts me even more, especially with the likes of Caliban going.

EDIT - Sam, you got that there before I could reply, thanks.

Two questions for any Warrior in the know:

#1 What do I have to do to get 5 tickets to this shindig?
#2 Will there be copious amounts of top shelf long island ice teas on the premise?

      Matt,

#1 I think me and Brian can come up with something you could do in return for a few tickets...does running around the Hotel butt naked along with Mark Hess sound doable? or maybe you can video tape yourself running from the airport screaming "BOMB"...

#2 Oh yes there will be mucho alcohol to consume...beer and liquor...more than enough to go around...not sure about wimpy ass long island ice teas...those are for sissies...

Can't wait to finally get to meet you man...weez gonna have a blast...

Sissy drink? I'm getting older now so I need to add some sugar to my drinks. So I'll grant you that. But since I am a firm believer in tipping bartenders extravagantly my drinks come back stiffer than a mule's kick. So we probably are not talking the same drink.

We were at a casino hotel bar a couple weekends ago and I ordered a top shelf long island. Waiter comes back 5 minutes later looking sheepish and says that the drink would cost me $25 so what would I like in it's place? I showed him that night.

How about a Warrior Longest Drive competition while we're at it? Would be way fun to network afterward too.

Or we can say that anyone who can drive the ball farther than I can in 3 balls then I could give them a free years worth of seo services.

I doubt I'd be giving too many campaigns out though.

Tina, Jan, et all - pm or Skype me for my cell number and we can make plans for Friday night.

Matt - adventure landing over on Capital Blvd has 3 decent mini golf courses (and go carts etc). They're open late on Fridays and Saturdays - probably the only place in Raleigh safe to drink and drive at night ;-)

Also - alas, the law in NC does not allow a true Long Island Ice Tea - too much alcohol is in it. The most they'll serve is 151 rum. You can't even get Everclear (legally) any more.

Ron - first round is on me!

can't wait to meet everyone there.

However if anyone wants to hit some real courses there are plenty in the area. One of the newest courses, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, is only about 15 minutes away on the campus of NC STATE UNIVERSITY. Only a couple of years old and a definite challenge!

See, what you do is take pictures of those who DO drink. Particularly any that exhibit any unusual or obnoxious behavior.

Then you simply email them suggesting a sales price for those pictures...

You're not alone. I don't really drink all that much myself... maybe a pint of Flying Horse with some good tikka masala or some Sapporo with some sushi rolls... but my alcohol guzzling days are far behind me.

      The Warrior's Event was PHENOMENAL.

This was my first one ever. Sam, Brian, and everyone else on the organizing team put together an all-star cast of presenters. The presenters were varied in their areas of expertise, personalities, and presentation styles. But the access to these giants of the forum was unprecedented.

Beyond the presenters, the 200 or so attendees represented people a wide range of geographies (Canada, England, the West Coast, the East Coast, North Carolinians, etc...)
and skills (a few people brand spanking new to the forum, lots of intermediate folks, and actually quite a lot of very accomplished marketers.

As expected, the conversations that took place outside of the presentation hall is probably where the most long-term value will come from. But the quantity and quality of insights the presenters gave really can't be overlooked. From Mike Carraway to Brad Spencer, Colin Theriot to John Rhodes, Ron Douglas to E. Brian Rose, Tim Castleman to Mario Brown, and on and on and on! Crazy value, particularly for what we paid. This was the ULTIMATE Warriors Special Offer.

I will not fail to attend the next one - no matter where in the world it is.

By the way, Russ Ruffino took EXCELLENT notes - so check them out:

btw, thanks for including my vid from the Warrior event on your WSO Profit Blueprint page, Mike. I'm using your product to launch my first ever WSO this week!

I was thinking about making a video...pictures, etc.

Then running a wso: "See What Happens When (Insert Popular Warriors Here) Get Sloshed (Warning: Not for faint of heart)"

Before I ran it, though I would contact those warriors for reviews. Maybe I would get a few extra bucks for not posting it

Ok, I feel those reading this who didn't attend the event deserve a glimpse as to what they missed. As I sit here in my hotel bed at 5 A.M. on a Monday morning, I am surrounded by:

    - 26 business cards (5 with hand written notes)
    - 2 pages with of note paper with scribbled links to websites that were shared with me during the course of discussion with other Warriors
    - 3 phone numbers to call by Tuesday
    - 4 Skype user-names to contact for JV discussion
    - 1 email to discuss a solution to a very serious technical challenge we've struggled with
    - 1 massive dump-truck load of double-entendre's, lead-balloon jokes, funny visuals, and even a close up image of a cow tongue, (Ok, so it was really a Steer) and creepy kid holding a brain...

Confused? You should be... Because that means you weren't there! But that's ok, because we attendee's are here to help with that by explaining away some of the more mysterious goings on of Warrior Live 2011.

First of all I have to tell you that the biggest value of this event has nothing to do with "learning." I am reminded of Brian Rhodes speaking early Sunday morning. "I want you to walk out on my presentation right now and get into the hall to strike up some JV's! GOOOO!"

As I casually glance to the mini-collection of dead tree's cut into finely edged rectangles surrounding my bed, I can see that his advice paid off. 26 business cards that will not get dumped. These were not obtained through: "Hey how you doin? Gotta card?"

That's networking 101 stuff, and it's an insult to the tree's who died to make those cards. Rather, these particular cards were asked for only when we (Two of us attended and double-teamed the crap out of the place) felt something good would come out of communicating further.

In other words, we made a lot of good connections, and I know for a fact we have at least 2 major JV's in the bag!

I have personally been holding off on my own WSO and JV project as I'm a bit picky about what I launch. But on the flip side of the coin, being exposed to so many other action-takers who are chomping at the bit to take action has forced me to realize that the longer I wait to take action, the more opportunities will slip by that I will most definitely not be a part of. Stinks for me, so I better do something about it.

If you need a better testament as to the benefit of attending such events and networking in person, just look at the fact that I'm typing this up on a 5 Monday morning at 5 A.M. I am energized, and committed to hashing out the details with my future JV partners.

Much of JV'ing is about relationship, making friends, standing out. Had I not attended, I would not be able to shoot a quick email over to Tim Castleman and say "Hey Tim.... Apple juice..." and have him know exactly what I mean.

Watching videos, listening to podcasts and reading ebooks are all great. But nothing compares to the real thing. You learn so much more about the people who have the knowledge, connections, and ability to boost your career. Hard to put a price on that folks. I got my money's worth, that's for sure. A huge thank you to Brian and Sam for putting this together. Thank you for sneaking us a t-shirt while no one else was looking too... Oops, did I type that?

Speaker shout outs: (I was busy networking in the hall every chance I got, so if I miss any speakers, no insult intended. I was busy doing what I was supposed to ok?) haha

Mario Brown: This was Mario's first live presentation, and he nailed it. Getting the group to stand up and sing ohhhh ohhhh ohhhhhhhh! Great job connecting with the crowd, putting a smile on everyone's face, and demonstrating the importance of stepping outside the crusty old "comfort zone" to take life changing action.

Colin Theriot: Two words: Stalin's Stereo.... Colin, I will bug you until the end of time until you send me the image you used for this slide... Please send it now!!! If you don't know what I'm talking about, then you weren't there and you missed out on the best word association/imagery I've ever seen!

Brad Spencer: Brad, Brad, Brad... I have pictures of you doing leg stretches/hip flexibility/River-dances in the hallway at lunch. I have yet to decide how I will use these to my benefit, but you can rest assured that I will find a way!

High energy, and one heck of a nice guy. Brad shared his micro product formula with us on Saturday. A testament to how quickly success can be realized.

Tim Castelman: You ruined apple juice for me Tim, what can I say? I'll never take another sip without mental flash-backs of your presentation. You're either a marketing genius, or a very, very cruel man. Haven't decided which yet!

Tim was raw, and his presentation didn't just fly in the face of everything I've ever been taught about public speaking - It pummeled it into the ground and then stomped on its head until it stopped moving. We learned a lot about Tim during his presentation - Really important stuff:

    - Nothing gives Tim more pleasure than fragging 16 year old punks on Call Of Duty

    - Tim's wife punches him a lot

    - Tim cackles maniacally as he deletes those who unsubscribe from his email list

    - Tim enjoys taking pictures of fake urination (Deliberately taken out of context, but hey... It keeps you reading right?)

But Tim's takeaway was made abundantly clear: "If I can do this, anyone can!" Thanks for the chat pool-side Tim. One word of caution though. You don't want to meet me online when the latest Call Of Duty launches. I'm just sayin...

John Rhodes: Hey John, it was funny when you said that you were funny! Ok, he knows what that means. I hope.

So John kicked things off by completely abandoning his prepared presentation for something more interesting. Talk about a speaker who connects instantly with the audience! His product leverage models rocked, and I walked away smiling when I shared my product marketing plan with him and he replied with a "That's hot, that's hot!"

Jason Fladlien: Sorry Jason, I didn't hear your entire presentation because I was busy re-writing one of my launch plans based on your first 5 slides. What you said resonated with me, and I decided to make some modifications. High value, detailed presentation.

Brian McLeod: I couldn't imagine a better host than Brian. Ok, that's a lie. I could, but he'd have to be handing out giant sacks of cash. Thank you Brian for keeping things lively, and keeping the crowd engaged. So what if a few of your jokes bombed and stoked groans from the crowd. j/k

The joint copywriting session was sorely needed, and it was great to hear from 3 professionals - Even if that meant that sometimes you guys disagreed. This shows that what we do as Warriors is often based on differing perspectives as our market is dynamic, evolving, and filled with real people - Not some bullet points on a slide.

Thanks again, and we had a blast sharing the worlds most perfect coffee spill "fail" with you. (It was awesome let me tell you! Only those of us who sit up front got to witness this)

Sam England: I missed Sam's session unfortunately as I had 10,071 voice-mails waiting for me, but I did get a chance to chat with Sam between sessions. All I can say is that based on our conversation, Sam is the real deal. Sam was making money doing "what he does" despite the fact he had 150 - 200 Warriors to manage!

Thanks for sharing Sam, and thanks for putting this together with Brian. Genuine folks who brought a crowd of like minded marketers from around the country together to make some money. Now I'm off to do exactly that...

Kudos to Sam and Brian for putting on this great event.

I learned a ton, met lots of great folks, had fun (even won a prize!) The spirit of giving and sharing from speakers and attendees was AWESOME.

      It's a weekend I'll remember for a long time.

It certainly was a weekend to remember. The presenters, of course, were awesome but some of the "outside-the-conference-room" discussions I participated in were better than a good many of the products I've bought!

One in particular that comes to mind featured Colin Theriot in the hallway outside the conference room where he shared some tricky mind ninja stuff with a handful of us. I'll be using some of his tips, trust me - good stuff.

And what a great thing it is just to be with people who speak the same language, isn't it? Who know what you mean when you start with the acronyms we all take for granted like SEO, WSO and the like.

This was my first live event and I'm hooked now - can't do anything the rest of the summer but I have already been asking around for anything going on this fall/winter. And of course, I'll be first in line to get my ticket to the next Warrior Event!

Great job, Sam and Brian! And I know others like Jack Tackett and Don Schenk were terrific at pitching in to help with things, as well. Not to mention being a great welcoming committee when some of us arrived on Friday.
