Even if you have a smartphone already, please answer this question for me.

Would you rather have an iPhone or Android?

I have an android phone and really like it. A few family members have iPhones and they swear by them too. For me I needed some of the features the droid had to integrate with my work and for that it has been perfect.

I have an Evo with Android on it, and have never had an iPhone. But my experience is that Apple will be the first to come out with some new, shiny, amazing toy. Then all the folks who value being on the cutting edge will pay a large sum for whatever it is.

Then if you wait a year, you can get pretty much the same thing from someone else with almost as many features (or sometimes improved), with more flexibility, at a fraction of the cost. Apple knows their market, and it's the innovators who buy first. I am more of an early/late adapter, sometimes a laggard (still play my SNES on the regular).

Actually it's the opposite, except for the 1st gen iPhone... Apple is generally behind the curve and let's other test for tech (i.e. true 4g, we'll be lucky to get it on the iphone 5 as Apple has already stated it's a new technology and want to see "others" make it mature before they adopt it). Plenty of other things where their behind the game including their computer lines. ***btw I'm a Macbook Pro and iPhone owner as well lol.

Before I would say the iPhone hands down is better, but the new Droids are excellent and leaving the iPhone behind. There's so much customization you can do and the new Droids are smooth operators compared to the sorta laggy/glitchiness of before. New iPhone 5 is being delayed till later this year if we're lucky and won't be LTE capable, while others will be, as well as Verizon etc upgraded to the new/faster LTE model later this year that all previous LTE phones will be able to use.

I prefer Android. One of the main reasons is that Apple refuses to use Flash on their devices.

Both iPhone and Android has its pros and cons, in terms of screen and imaging I guess iPhone is the best. Other features seems to point to Android.

I own the iPhone 4 and I absolutely love it. I've even purchased my children the iPhone as well. I really couldn't see owing any other smart phone.

I have co workers who own the Android and Blackberry. I've compared what they all offer and I still believe that the iPhone is a better device.

I would rather have an iPhone but truthfully speaking my answer is biased simply because the iPhone is the only smartphone I've ever owned but I just can't see myself switching to another smartphone for any reason.

I have an iphone , but before that I had an android phone. Guess it's a couple of years ago. While i really like the Android OS interface, there are few things about the iphone, that I like much better:

I have yet to come across a touch screen that looks and feels better than those on apple products. They simply just do it a bit better than the competition.

When you upgrade the software on your android, all your data gets lost, and you have to manually reupload it. This isn't the case with iphone

I experienced, that after 2-3 months after an upgrade of the OS, my android phone was very slow compared to right after the upgrade. I've never experienced this on any of my iphones.

When my android was about 6 months old the time between recharges had decreased significantly. This probably has more to do with the hardware (HTC), than the OS, but my current iphone is about the same age now, and it's battery is almost as good as when I bought it.

Now, I'm assuming, that improvements has been made to the android OS, so maybe some of the above are as big issues anymore, and the Android OS does things, that I wish my iPhone could do. Besides from that it sucks, that you always need iTunes with the iPhone.

It's still my impression though, that iphone is more reliable, and I simply don't think I could get used to a touch screen other than the one on my iphone

I have both an iPhone 4 and LG Android phone. I like the iPhone alot better for the most part. Mainly for the front facing camera and video. Also the LG only has like 200mb of internal memory and doesnt matter if you use a 2GB SD card since you can only install a few apps without eating up the external memory.

Dont get me wrong though. I still like the Android platform, but I have to stay true to Apple especially since they opened it up to Verizon finally. Because I had to pass it up when crappy SBC was your only choice.

      I prefer the Android OS.

My husband has an iPhone 4 and I have an EVO. I find the Android interface easier to use than iPhone and I like the features of the EVO better than iPhone. When I use his iPhone, I feel like I have one hand tied behind my back, like I'm limited somehow.

Case in point: the other day my husband wanted to add another Gmail account to his iPhone. It took me several minutes to realize that you can't do that within the Mail app - you have to do it in the Settings area. So I had to close the Mail app, open Settings and navigate to Mail and add the info. On the EVO, I can just hit the Menu button while in the Gmail app and add my info. MUCH easier!
