One of my business networks had a story about Google tonight setting aside 500 million dollars as a possible future settlement on the governments suit over fixing adwords bids and favoring large business enterprises at the expense of smaller ones.
They have also been denied "ownership" of the digital delivery of millions of public domain documents and other media. They have vowed to appeal.

That is where I read it. They set aside $500 million like it was nothing. The EU also has a very large investigation going over a number of issues. No charges there yet. Reminds me of the companies who continue to pollute because its cheaper to pay the fines than to clean up their act (and our environment). Besides, they can probably put this off several years (ala Microsoft) before making any changes at all. They'll make billions before paying millions.

When you hear someone telling you what YOU can't do, they are usually talking about what THEY can't do.
