I have had enough of spam email

I get about 100 spam emails a day from IM'ers re offers and other junk.

I rarely open the emails anymore - let alone unsubscribe. It takes too much of my time.

It is so frustrating...I dont know how to manage the situation anymore.

Should I get a new email address and never give it out to another IMer ever again?

It is NOT spam if you signed up for it.

Don't want to receive them then unsubscribe and stop signing up for every list you see.

    Be selective.

      It's SPAM.

Every time I buy a WSO I instantly get on their email list. I never gave them consent to send me any offers. They get my email via the paypal transaction.

Are you sure? Have you ever read any of the terms when you sign up - whether to get free info or from a purchase?

I put in my terms that I may send related offers, etc. and they can unsubscribe any time (yes - even to my customers).

I have an email specifically for signing up to lists and purchasing products. This way they are all in one place. I can read them, or I can never see them. It becomes my choice.

My advice to you is if you are in the IM niche, either get used to the emails or find a new niche. It is what it is. I have been on this forum about 10 years and we get variations of your thread probably weekly

It's funny. There are quite a few marketers who have no idea of what the unsubscribe function is supposed to accomplish.

And I mean the ones who are sending the emails.

I've unsubscribed from a lot of lists where the emails just keep coming anyway. So I report those as spam.

And then there are those daily emails I get from scrapers who never had my permission to send me an email in the first place.

And then the constant emails due to the Aweber breach a while back.

And, of course, those foreign Princes who feel the need to send me money...

And the "Your friend Hairlossforidiots recommends"...

But it sure is a lot better these days since the Can-Spam act. Back in the old days we would get anywhere from 2400 to 3000 spams a day to our company email addy. The one where customers would email us with orders. So we had to painstakingly make sure we didn't toss out the orders along with the spam.

All-in-all, these days it's really not such a problem compared to 10 years ago.

Ditto Mike. Read the fine print. Wouldn't it be more productive to use your time to unsubscribe instead of making a whole new thread about it? Just sayin'

Personally, I find the spam in my physical mailbox more of a pain.

When I told the mailman (who is a personal friend) to stop delivering all this crap, that I will never buy, nor give a hoot(g rated) about...he told me he has to deliver it by law...at least here in Cali.

Although I must admit it was more of a pain before I got a fireplace:p

Last week, I unsubscribed 4 times from the same list. I continued to get the emails and they started coming twice a day - so I reported it as spam. This was from a warrior!

I would normally assume that this is due to malfunctioning unsubscribe links. I used to email (people I knew anyway) when the unsub link did not work. Now I simply assign my Gmail filter to it to make it go directly to my Trash folder and I never see them after that.

I tried emailing him to no avail. I have a copy of the email in my 'sent' box. He left me no alternative.

  • I know for a fact some of the Warriors are either selling the lists, or sending the spam themselves, because this stuff I've been getting has absolutely NOTHING to do with what I bought, and we're not talking about a few emails a day, either, but an extra 25-30 per WSO starting within a day or two after purchasing (not all of them, of course, but the ones that are doing it, rather). But use the + and a unique code after the username of your gmail, and you'll find out who it is real quick.

I've been having this same issue after certain purchases. Kinda burns my ass.

I guess I have been lucky. I don't buy too many WSOs, but the ones I have - I have not seen this issue. Lucky me.

I recently cancelled my FaceBook account. As soon as the cancellation request was acknowledged by FaceBook my spam emails dropped from 200 - 300 a day to 5 -6 a day.
I know that is not scientific proof but it is one heck of a coincidence.
