My daughter is trying to get me into some of the more modern, but obscure
underground bands.

This is a form of music they call ska. It's a fusion of punk and jazz. It's very
different, and I'm speaking as a musician. A former member of Dexy's Midnight
Runners was a member of this group at one time. They were also pretty
unique in their own way.

Anyway, here's one of WIFS's catchiest tunes.

Enjoy!

I've never been much of a fan of ska and the sub-culture of Rudy's that goes with it. The music itself was never the issue, as I enjoy most of the third-wave ska bands taht defined it (Fishbone, No Doubt, Sublime, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, and the like) but there is a distinct element in the ska culture that feels if you don't dress the part, then you aren't a fan, and are therefore to be ridiculed and often times beaten.

Most of the Rudy's I've known in my day were mean and arrogant and just downright hateful people to be around. This of course isn't true of all of the rude boy and girls, but it certainly felt like a majority of the kids that identified with the culture were less than pleasant.

As to this song, it isn't bad, and like most ska, has a great upbeat, you can dance to it sound.
