Here's a good trick that's easy to do.

    You need:

    1. A normal deck of cards
    2. A small coin

    The trick

You hand the deck of cards to your volunteer. They shuffle as much as they like, any way they like. You write a prediction on a piece of paper, which is folded and put to one side (but in full view at all times). The volunteer then cuts the deck and looks at the card they cut to. Your prediction is opened - it matches the the cut to card.

    • The volunteer genuinely shuffles
    • They cut to any card they like
    • Nothing is forced
    • You never touch the cards
    • The deck can be examined
    • The prediction is written before the cut and never touched by you again
    The method

A picture card is best for this (a Jack, Queen or King) because the pattern hides the method. Before the trick, take a small coin and press this coin into the center of the card (say, the Jack of Spades). You do not have to do this very hard - just enough to create a little raised indentation.

If you put this card into the deck, the bump will cause this card to be cut to almost every time.

All you have to do is write "You will cut to the Jack of Spades!" and your prediction will be correct.

To pretty much guarantee that your volunteer will cut to the Jack, you can take another Jack from duplicate deck - indent it with the coin - and add it to your deck.

(Do not under-estimate this trick, professional magicians have been using it for centuries)

I tried this three times, it was right three times.

The site seems a little gimmicky, but nothing happened beside the trick.

Can't figure how they do this

Told you about the drain bamage.

I know it has something to do with clicking twice...I'm not staring at it when I click....so no.

The only magic talent I have is making money disappear, and beer in that order.

Well, if you look closely none of the cards on the second screen shot are any of the ones from the first screen shot...

              DOh!!!

I showed them, I didn't even think of one and it still disappeared.:p

Reminds me of a Columbo episode...I think it was Patrick McGoohan as the magician.

Think of a number...then he would tell him to pick up the statue (say) in the room and it would have his number..

If he had thought of another number he would have told him to look under the lamp...etc

  • 1) Pick a number between 2 and 10.

    2) Multiply by 9.

    3) You should have a two digit number. Take those 2 numbers and add them together.

    4) Take your new number, and subtract 5.

    5) Now associate this new number with a letter in the alphabet, i.e., 1=A, 2=B, 3=C, 4=D, etc.

    6) Think of a country, anywhere in the world, that begins with that letter.

    7) To prove my amazing power, I will it make even more difficult:

Take the letter immediately after the original letter, and think of a large animal beginning with that letter.

    8) Now think of the color of that large animal.

    9) Now think of the country, animal and color all at the same time, please. Think very hard so I can pick up your thoughts from all the way over here.

I see something coming in... yes, it's getting clearer now...

C'mon, now. Don't try to fool me. There are no grey elephants in Denmark.
