My Dad has pneumonia

My Dad could use some prayers, good thoughts, etc.

He has pneumonia.

    Hyssop, honey and lemon drink it like water 2 hours opposite meds. It helps me when I have respiratory problems. I'll pray for him.

        My Dad has had steroid shots and other meds (not sure which ones), but he is still doing badly.

    Shay - I am sorry to hear of your father's illness. I had severe asthma (still there but under great natureopathic control) and was very prone to pneumonia so I know how miserable he feels.

    When I feel my lungs clogging I take a capsule of ginger and one of cayenne together a couple of times a day. It clears the bronchial tubes and makes life much easier. OJ by the quarts, too - natural antihistamine and lots of Vit C. You would be surprised how well this combo kicks the bejeebers out of any lung difficulties.

    And a bit of pampering doesn't hurt either.

      I appreciate the good wishes - I really do.

      He seemed to be doing better when he came by today, but he is going to England for 10 days, so please pray he will not get worse. You know how a change in climate can affect you, and he is going from 70 degrees and sunny to....well, I don't know what the weather is in England right now....

    Shay, I am glad to hear that your dad is recovering. I wonder if you know the cause of his pneumonia i.e. did they grow a germ? If so, do you know what it was?

    If he was a smoker and has chronic bronchitis, then travelling to a cold damp climate like England may not be a good idea.

      Derek - lung problems are becoming epidemic in the US. More and more are becoming asthmatic and 60% of the enormous amount of lung cancer victims never even ever smoked.

      The air pollution is terrible in many of our metropolises and to complicate matters the Military is spraying barium into the air to enhance radar - and it is killing people. There are a lot of doctors fighting against the chemicals being sprayed in the name of homeland security, but some areas are still seeing almost daily spray. As an asthmatic from the get, I take a capsule of ginger and cayanne together a couple of times a week just to keep my bronchial tubes clear and I live in rural areas.

      Shay's dad might actually be doing himself a huge favor by getting away from where he is at the moment - I just hope where he goes the air is better. Pneumonia is quite survivable at most levels - but it is very miserable to have just the same.

    Having been on the receiving end of pneumonia - I know it's NOT fun, and can't imagine traveling after just getting over it so I pray that your dad has a thick coat and good rainboots for England!
