Do you know the US Army Spends MILLIONS of dollars on training HIGHLY skilled recruiters to read every flinch, change of body languae and tone... in their prospects voice, and lead them down a very precise path that empsises the "benefits" and downplays the negatives??

They are equipped with the most sophisticated objection stoppers and rebuttals on Earth.

They are the best recruiters in the World.

You think they choose the TOUGHEST guys to be recruiters?

Lol. No.

They choose the FASTEST TALKERS!

Each year the goverment spend millions upon millions to drive THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE like cattle into these recruiting centers where recruiters are so good at keeping you focused on benefits, that they can even tell you the hardcore parts with a wink and make it go right by your head.

Thats how my friend ended up thinking (wrongly) that he was going into the army to learn engineering... and ended up being a slave under the sun for 2 blistering years during desert storm.. Dont get me wrong... he learned some engineering he said... they showed him how to tie logs together with ropes and float it acrosss a river... so he learned "Bridge Building". A highly sought after job skill Im sure.

He did not feel like he got what he Bargained for, but technically... the recruiter told the truth.

What happens if you want out?

"You are not hard core, you leave with shame and dishonor", even though in all fairness you had been sold on the benefits... Yes, complete with highly sophisticated take aways to keep it compliant.

What if they didnt "sell", army recruiters... What if they just painted the picture like it is for the RULES and not the Exceptions?

We probably wouldnt have much of an Army.

I said all that to say that "Recruiting" is SALES.

Dont forget it.

You can barely even GIVE something away without selling it. Thats a fact.

It amazes me how many people are uncomfortable with "selling", and have moral issues with it.

BENEFITS!!!!! Thats what you sell... thats how its done. Why be a marketer if you dont understand that?

ITS A GIVEN THAT YOUR PRODUCT IS QUALITY...or should be. Customers will always be finicky and they will always buy on emotion, and if you arent broke... you are SELLING on it.

If you feel bad about what you are selling, then the issue isnt selling... its your product offering and you shouldnt be pushing something you dont believe in.

My rant.
