I am getting ready to launch a revenue sharing article directory and was hoping to get some input on good ways to not just get traffic but to get authors to start writing and submitting to my article directory

    Three things may help you:-

    (i) In this very recent thread, someone asked a closely related question, and the responses explained "what authors value in an article directory", which clearly overlaps a lot with your question;

    (ii) Posting in the right part of the forum (this isn't "off topic");

    (iii) Putting something like "Launching article directory" in the title, rather than just "Looking for some marketing advice", because that way you'll probably get authors clicking on the thread - down here, under this title, most of the people whose replies you want to read probably won't see it and respond.
