My God Steven, your post sunk deep. I am sorry to learn of your loss. My brother is also my best friend, I couldnt imagine getting that news, even though one day, one of us undoubtedly will, just as you have unfortunately.

But the next thought would be that in this life, I was honored to be closer to him than a brother, and I was his best friend too. Maybe that thought can comfort you that of all the people in this life he loved you most, and called you his best friend, what an honor.

If he (my brother) had nothing else, I know I made sure that in this life, he had a good best friend who was closer than a brother, and like you I would go on and dream his dream with honor and carry on his will until we meet again.

I hope somewhere in these thoughts you can find some comfort. May your best friend rest in peace, and may you also find find peace in that.

You have my sympathies

They're all just words. And at times like these, words just don't cut it. There's
a hole somewhere inside of us where this person used to be. It never gets filled.
We hope that, with time, it closes at least just a little.

So I won't leave you with empty words. I'll just leave you with this.

I pray, for your sake, that that hole gets filled at least a little bit as time
passes and that to always remember that we need to go on because
somewhere, somebody out there is depending on us.

Steven, sorry to hear about that. I have 2 older brothers who passed away couple of years back. Oldest bro was 55 then, and the other at 45. I have since look at life from a very different perspective - and treasure the gift of life that is given unto us - not to be taken for granted.
