"A Crap Load", really??

I just got the following spam comment on one of my blogs. Doesn't it just make you want to contact them right now?? Why do these people even bother?

"Legit On the internet Jobs could be discovered and you can make a crap load of income with affiliate marketing. I've been performing it for about two years now and work for myself at home!"

    In a way, it's kind of good that they do: given how good the SEO-value of relevant blog-commenting can really be, if you get it right, it makes it relatively easy for those of us who get it right to make our comments stand out a mile as "adding value" and being accepted.

    On the other hand, the "crap load" of comments of the type more usually found are why I've disabled comments on all my own blogs. :p

      I'd like to think the spammer was subtly intending to get attention through shock value but it's more likely he's just crass.

      Probably using xrumer or scrapebox. I've heard you can use one of those to find blogs which you then manually comment on -- which sounds way more useful and likely to succeed than blasting thousands of identical comments into the ether.

    Ugh, I get so many of the same kinds of comments, and I also find myself wondering why these people even bother. Do they really think that I'd approve a comment like that, especially on a blog that doesn't even have ANYTHING do with affiliate marketing? Or do they expect ME to get caught up in excitement and click on their affiliate link and make a purchase? Frankly, they're just wasting their own time as much as mine.

      But this is typical of what happens when people have a "quantity-driven approach" to SEO for their sites, rather than thinking primarily in terms of quality. :p

        Here's what some blog comment spammers are doing: They make a automated comment on your blog, then a little later they use automation to check to see if their comment(s) has been approved.

        From this, they build a list of "auto approve" blogs and will remove the other blogs from their list. They then use their list to build links on the auto-approve blogs using automation.

    Ok here's what we do:

    Hire the best developers in the world to create a piece of software that sends a slight, (but very real) electric shock to the spammer every time their bots posts one of these silly comments.

    We'll call it: "Shock Spam!"

    (Naturally we'll release it in stages: version 2.0, 3.0, 4.5, 4.6 beta etc.)

      That might work on humans - but be careful. Bots might think it's food.

    Would you believe we had an applicant for a website who actually paid money to register the name 'LoadOfCrap dotcom'

    So you can just see this as a compelling selling point - believe me this is good stuff I am selling here at Load of Crap.

    And **** for brains was very upset when we refused his application unless he registered an 'appropriate' domain name.

    Naturally he didn't...

    ... I wonder if it is the same guy who turned to comment spamming as a professional occupation instead of affiliate marketing.

    He's RIGHT! It is an accepted, and probably proven, FACT that 95% of all IM people make a CRAP LOAD on IM! YEP! They work and work and work, and get a LOT of CRAP!

    You know, this guy keeps telling me he found me a $95/hour job! I keep accepting! Maybe next time I'll have the GOVERNMENT call him. I HATE being teased!

    Its just how people talk... I wouldnt let it stop me from buying his report if it made sense, I just figure he's excited about it... I hear people say that all the time and have no trouble understanding what they mean. I guess some people are more concrete thinkers and have trouble generalizing, or growing with you...

    If you have asperbergers syndrome for example; then you really think concrete and you might picture an actual load of crap coming - But most people can make the jump, and understand that he really means "Alot" of money, and figure he's just excited.

    If you are really picturing a load of crap when he says that - You might to check yourself for aspergers syndrome, your thinking is highly concrete to a concerning extent, you may also ask yourself if you are offended regularly, more than need be... if so, you may be jumping to concrete conclusions about everything you hear in a world where people generalize and use slang.

    Its called being so heavenly minded that you can do VERY LITTLE earthly good.

    No worries, thats the minority.

    Well, as for the reason why they bother, it's all about money. I read somewhere online that spammers make close a total of $4M online last year. Amazing...

    Thing is... if you search in quotes for some of these idiot lines... you'll find them indexed and bringing backlinks.

    Over here we KNOW what that **** is. But 50% of blog owners really appreciate "someone" was there making a comment.
