OT Example of how Article Writing Works! COMPLETE ACCIDENT!

I wrote this here Article in the Off topic Section, wasnt meant to be that but kind of turned into one...

http://www.warriorforum.com/off-topi...years-old.html

Okay, so I email My amber pick maker, and ask them if I could buy another just like the first, they had plenty last time I checked (Mind you, these things go for 80 bucks... They sit on the shelf for a long time... Plus they are the most obscure pic made by this maker...Not his major market).

THEY HAD A SUDDEN SURGE OF INTEREST IN AMBER PICKS AND THEY ARE OUT OF PICKS!!! They Are looking for material to produce more.

There's a chance of pigs flying better than that happening, and it not having to do with this post IMO.

If thats true, then I just accidentally learned that article writing works and I should have been an affiliate.

Whats your take?

Your post is on the second page in a Google search for Amber Guitar Picks and is the #1 result on the first page for Ancient Amber Guitar Picks. So, your post likely did result in some sales.

Wouldn't doubt it. That thread of yours had me glued to it for ages. I started looking up all kind stuff about amber and guitar pics.
    Certainly tickled my interest.

Just typed "ancient amber guitar pics" in Google. Guess what came up first.
    You bet, good old WF.

Wow, is all I can say. I could see an amber pick collector going in there and buying them out... What an eye opener huh?

    John,

One of the reasons threads around here have to be nuked is because it's too easy for Google love to air our laundry in public and attract flies.

      Whoa, hold on there, cowboy!

I wasn't referring to good threads like your Amber thread, I was connecting the dots between Google and this OT forum.

I was only suggesting that folks who sometime start fires with their threads have the possibility to attract folks outside of IM that will come here just to stir the pot if we allowed certain types of threads.

Your example of the Amber thread is a good example of how much Google loves this place. I was simply inferring that Google doesn't have a filter system in place to not rank threads that could cause a problem.

And I don't think this thread should cause any problems, but I don't make those decisions.

edit: On second thought, reading the subject line of this thread does open possibilities for abuse...time will tell, I guess.

    Then you'll know its true!

    Too far out John.

So nice when it's natural - (and you remember that term 'duplicatable' and try this again with something you ARE an affiliate of) --

It is true WF gets indexed super fast -

I really don't see that either the amber thread of this one has anything objectionable but then again I am not 'the man' and as you know my thinking it sometimes ditzy.

... but anyway, more power 2 ya!
