...for not meeting expectations.

It had to take 5 minutes just to download the files.

I hope these thieving scums get everything that's coming to them in life.

And people wonder why I retired.

This is why I'm hesitant to post my first WSO. I know that some bone head is just waiting to post WSOs on "B lack H at" forums for free as soon as they go live here on WF!

I found a WSO the other day (here on WF), some guy said If you buy his WSO he will review any WSO you want. The only person that would be able to do that is someone getting all the WSOs for free (stolen).

Is their any way around refunds? I think refunds are total BS!

    I hear you Steve.

Just today sent one back cause the guy bought a WP SEO technique at 10.00 o'clock and after all... couple minutes later... drum rolls please!!!... the ****ing moron doesn't know what is WP and wants his money back.

    Loser of the day!

Biggest problem is Paypal actually: They should have a freakin box for "forbidden buyers" - just put all these email addresses in there and good to go.

But PP really doesn't care, since they slice a share in every refund...

Actually, this was a CB product. PayPal gives me very little trouble.

Time to dump all my CB products because almost every one comes back
      refunded in minutes.

I've quit using Clickbank too. It wasn't making me a lot of money and between whiny affiliates and serial refunders it wasn't worth my time.

Is it possible they bought it before, or thought it was something else? DID they download it all.

They gave their reason for the refund Steve.

      Not satisfied with product.

Seems pretty clear to me that they didn't buy it before and they DID download
it. Though how they can go through hundreds of pages in 17 minutes is
      beyond me.

Also, they just wrote back to me saying this.

      ******************************************
I am not trying to steal anything. I"m new at this and am trying to find
something that works for me. I was looking for something to help with the
amazon affiliate program. You are awfully testy. I'm sorry if this has happened
to you before or this has been a waste of time for you. I'm sure you feel like
people are ripping you off. I'm not a dishonest person. If I do end up learning
more about this, I will order from you again.
      ******************************************

If you're as puzzled by the response as I am, welcome to my world. How
can they say they're not satisfied with something one minute and then
      write this the next?

Order from me again? Not if I can f*****g help.

You know me! I keep trying to play devil's advocate. Heck, I wish I could outline the experience I had over the last 1.5 months. And you think YOU have problems!?!?!?

Well, either the person was a LIAR, or he or she felt incapable of working with the stuff right now.

      1. The sales page explicitly tells them what they're getting. Yeah, I'm one of
those rare marketers who does full disclosure on many of his sales pages.

      2. There is no way you can download a product this size, go through it and
realistically refund it determining it's over your head all in the span of 17
minutes. I don't care who you are.

Doesn't do a darn bit of good when people don't actually read them. People tend to skim. ESPECIALLY when they are new. Lots of products, so little time. They skim and think this is the one. They buy, download and realize it wasn't what they thought. They refund.

        Cost of doing business.

Part of what I do is create training videos AND documents for various products. I make them for everything I can think of. I make them clear and easy to follow. Yet every day I also answer support tickets where people ask questions that are covered - extensively - in the training.

It's all part of that instant satisfaction thing.

Frustrating, yes. But don't let it get under your skin. When you are getting refunds, that means you are making sales. The trick is to keep the refund rate low. You will never eliminate it.

But so many people comment on packages they have never used.

Is this a step in the right direction?

    Steven,

We all know those people are out there.
One I recently got was someone donated $20 through my gofundme page and then requested a refund through PP because they didn't get a download link.
I immediately refunded it but did put in a comment asking what download link they were looking for since they had paid through a DONATION link. I got no response from them.

Also around the same day Paul posted about hackers stealing login information, my WSO had two sales and then 24 hours later both sales asked for refunds. Again I immediately refunded.

I don't visit any BH sites ,so I don't know if any of the WSO files ended up on any of them, but like you I can just hope Karma catches up with them.

I've seen a couple of your sales pages and know how "straight", honest, open and descriptive they are. You ought to have virtually no refunds at all, the way you sell your products.

    I hear you.

It doesn't make me particularly keen to become a ClickBank vendor, I must say.

Wow, that is a bummer, Steve. We're still evaluating a 3-digit monthly (or 4-digit yearly) product here after 2 months and actually trying to see how to make the most of what's offered. Takes a lot of time, not just minutes, you're right.

It's a cost of doing business, pure and simple. Even the best restaurants with 5 Star ratings get complaints.

I own two brick and mortar businesses and deal with miserable people on a weekly basis. I refund all their money immediately, sometimes in the 100's of dollars. You think Online is tough, try Offline where people can go to all these social sites like Yelp and destroy your business with reviews.

With online marketing the product is normally produce once and sold over and over, how would you like to create a new product for every customer and still get refunds? That's my world, you have it easy.

Perry Marshall told me people steal his info, download his Digital products then ask for immediate refunds. I asked Perry if this ticks him off and he stated "it used to bother him in the beginning but I realized if I wanted to market online it was a cost of doing business". Perry said refunds were less than 5% of his business, and that 95% of his customers were honest.

Perry concentrates on creating better value for his Paying customers and doesn't worry about the thieves, said you'll spend half your life trying to stop them. As you probably know, Perrry does Millions of dollars in business and is a very successful marketer.

    Keep marketing dude.

I hate any refunds, but if it's going to happen, I'd rather it happen right away. I hate refunds that happen 3 months down the line. It really messes w/ your advertising budgeting.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[4112105].message }}
  • Like the 99,99% of marketers I hate refunds, especially when the person can't evaluate the whole course.
I've a blog flipping course with 30 videos, 30 reports, and a bunch of bonuses and sometimes happened to get a refund request just after 5 minutes.
I'm sure they decided to ask refunds before getting the report/course.

About the Blac kHat forums, this is a plague for us, but I think also that who gets products from there, will never buy a real one.
When I want a product, I got it straight from WSO, and if it doesn't convince me, I simply don't buy it.

One of my products was shared on 3 Blac kHat forums no more than 15 minutes from launch, but the good thing in the middle of a big s*it is you can get them removed pretty fast. Sometimes I alert the sellers as soon as I found one, but we need a team of "Blac kHat Destructors". Sometimes is better toa ct on download portals for removal, it is more fast.

I hope this will change soon in better, but I don't think this will change...
    See you soon!

The best thing you can do to combat BlackHat forum type of thievery is to make sure you have plenty of links to your other stuff in there, and plenty of your own affiliate links. You have to make your product in a way so that it makes money even if you give it away.

The thing is people come on these forums and find out how easy it is to get a refund from clickbank, theres hundreds of threads on the subject I would assume.

If it was in an un IM niche then I bet thr refunds would be much lower.

    Welcome to the club Steven.

My main program is 15+ PDFs, 500+ pages...and I had a refund request within a couple minutes. I just had to laugh it off, I knew right away they were a serial refunder.

I think whats being referred to are sites that steal your product and list it as a free download on their own webpages at their own forums. So they will buy a $97 product from you, then they download it and ask you for a refund 5 minutes later, and then they go list your product on the internet for free somehwere.

They steal LITERALLY thousands in sales from honest marketers.

Also you have customers who find the scumbags sites where they list honest marketers products for free, and they get pissed that they had to pay so they email you for a refund usually not for a very good "made up" reason.

Sometimes they are just mad because you didnt write it in a way that they can easily put into an article spinner, and so they refund...

    Scumbags. I agree with Steven.
