Been learning about the business of IM since March 2009, only just moving forward since January 2011. Why such a big gap, INFORMATION OVERLOAD it was something I never want to experience ever again. It was all my own doing. Thought I could go it alone, then BANG i was zapped. Big Negative Vibe Generator. Learned that lesson the hard way.
Just love the online business platform.

There's lots of good information out there, and some great information.

You can read until your eyes are blurry, and your mind is numb. The key to success is to take what you've learned, and PUT IT INTO ACTION.

    Welcome to the forum.

Hi All, new to Warrior. Glad I found it. I too was stuck on info. overload, have been looking into IM for about 5 years. Just realized there is only so much you can read it is time to take action, it is now or never.

Hi Pattyj, and welcome to the Forum.

Like yourself, I dipped my toes into the IM waters about 5 years ago - and found the water was full of sharks! My wife threatened divorce if I continued, and that together with all the excessive and conflicting information I was getting, made me back off.

One 'fabulous' course I bought was typical. It cost around $100 and was a 48 page book. Even with my limited knowledge I could tell there were elements missing, and . . .

        Lo and Behold!

I got a phone call from the USA offering to mentor me through the product. I soon worked out that he was more or less admitting that the course won't work alone, and said I could use OPs money (MY credit cards) to pay for the mentoring. The cost? Over $3,500.00!

Of course, i rushed to get my credit card, and hid it out of sight. No way. I got four more calls pestering me, eventually offering the 'slimmed down' course for only $1995.00.

The course, by the way, was called My Online Income System. I know it's back on the market, but don't know whether it's a better, and complete working system, or if nothing's changed, so I can't comment. I still have the old one, and with a lot more knowledge now, re-read it, taking careful notes. Nope - the old one still wouldn't work.

There are still a lot of Great Whites out there, looking to scam the newcomer, so proceed with caution.

Now I'm back, I work on a strictly limited budget (which I never exceed), and I don't buy loads of miracle products.

My experience here in the forum has saved me a lot of money, and the experience of the Warriors is priceless.

Simply ask, and the Warriors will always try to help you.

If you are really really new, I would recommend getting straight talking guidance or honest mentoring. It can short cut the learning and making income time by tons. (No, I don't do either, but I'm always happy to help and advise).

There's a well respected site where you are, in sunny California. It's specially designed for newcomers, and even I can follow the easy clear instructions.

Oh - and he's English, so it must be OK.

Good luck in your venture. This can be where your life starts to change forever, and for better. Be patient.

To quote part of Max Ehrmanns Desiderata:

"Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let not this blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism."

        Alan

Full copy of Desiderata attached below, with my compliments

If someone could find a cure for the IO disease, they would be a very wealthy person.

I think the IO is just part of paying your dues of entry. Most everyone has to suffer it...

Good luck in your ventures with your new mindset.
    The hard part is over...

    Welcome to the forums,

Still new to IM myself, information overload and never taking action so I've learn my lesson early I hope.

One advice I can share I've learned from being on the forums for a short amount of time is help anyone you can and always ask for help when you need it.

Good to meet you and good luck to your IM adventures.

Welcome to the forum. Information overload is something we all have to find a way to deal with. Many here say to pick one thing and do it untill you see results or drop it. I think that is a great way to get started with IM.

Pick one thing and take action on it. Continue to take action on it until it works or you know it will not work. Pretty simple right?

hehe...but things are getting better and better as we learn to do the methods ourselves and study how to jive with the Google dance

In a nutshell! Ask for what you need help on, and help when it's needed.

    Hey John,

    Welcome to the WF.

I know exactly what you mean when referring to information overload.
It CAN be very negative, and does more harm than good.
If I can offer a wee word of advice, and that is to find a good mentor, or a good system, and focus on it and it alone until you're earning.
Nothing worse than distractions and sideline offers that pull you in every direction but forward.

Good luck, and I wish you well.

    Pete

    Hello Hello.

You have opened up the gates of hell... no turning back now! Haha, I'm just playing.

I lurked here for years before I finally signed up. Regardless there is one thing and one thing only I want to tell you.

Put your wallet in your pocket and use the search feature. IF you decide you need to buy anything then its a War Room membership. Anything else and you are WASTING your money.

I don't care how slick that sales letter sounds. You are wasting your money. Stick with your plans and I can almost guarantee you will make it. Guarantee it. Remember use the SEARCH feature before plunking down the cash for information. Best of luck in your marketing.

I think Information Overload is kind of a right of passage for Internet Marketers... I'm yet to find anyone I know that hasn't gone through it to some degree although I am sure they are people out there who haven't....

I think we sit there spinning our wheels because we are a little scared to actually take off down the track of IM but don't like to admit it to ourselves so we keep ourselves busy by learning more and more... or was that just me?
