I looked up into my rear view mirror, pumped my brakes a couple of times and then raised and shook my hand for about 5 seconds. ( as in what are you doing???? )
The driver slowed down and respected my space - 2 cars lengths away from me.
He switched to another lane and then to another lane that was 2 lanes away from me and sped away.
It seems like almost every day I get a new tailgater.
During the school year when I was driving my kid to school even in 15-20 MPH stop & go traffic, almost every day someone would tailgate me and I would have to signal them to back off.
These folks are in a hurry to get to work but tailgating me is not going to make it happen any faster.
One day a guy was tailgating me and I did my usual things to get rid of a tailgater - in very slow moving stop & go traffic but he persisted - numerous times.
One time when the traffic came to a halt, I looked up in my rear view mirror and homeslice was getting out of his car and running towards mine!?!
He looked like a bean counter type of guy, small, glasses and non-intimidating etc.
But I still quickly made sure the doors were locked.
He could have been strapped, ready to break and this was it.
He was kind enough to take the time to come and tell me that my brake lights were not working.
I thanked him profusely and asked God to bless him.
Ps. Stay away from the car in front of you and you will avoid numerous accidents in your lifetime.
