I need to test a fax service which I am going to use to send fax internationally (from Philippines to US), just want to know if it works.
Any US-based warrior who I can send a test fax message to?

You're kidding, right? To the best of my knowledge, FAX is an INTERNATIONAL STANDARD! You SHOULD be able to send the fax to a system over there.

Changing the standard would complicate matters, add cost, have to be tested, and be incompatible.

ALSO, if the service is EFAX, I KNOW it works! I used it to send and recieve faxes, and NO PROBLEMS either way.

    Thanks for reply Steve.

The service I want to try is faxzero.com or gotfreefax.com
They both have a free and paid option.

I checked EFAX, looks good however, I only need to send one fax.
Although I think I can use the 30-day free trial.

    Thanks again.

Isn't efax still free to send? They used to be FREE to send and only charged if you needed to recieve.

You COULD just try using it to send your fax AND, if they don't succeed, try something else.

Anyway, there is kind of an unwritten law that there must be a special handshake. The ORIGINAL FAX had such a handshake. If the line isn't a fax, it will tell you none is available. It ALSO negotiates to the fastest method available. So any decent service will tell you if it worked, and it is VERY involved! It negotiates the speed, determines when each is ready, blocks each segment, blocks each page, gets machine info, terminates send, etc... If ANY unrecoverable error occurs, it should let you know. If no unrecoverable error happens, SUCCESS! I haven't known it to fail.

Steve, I think EFAX is now a monthly service.

    Thanks for the detailed info.

I was able to test FaxZero and GotFreeFax from Kim and it went through in less than 5 mins. So they both work.

Thanks again Steve and Kim! :-)
