WATCH OUT AT STORES!!!!!!

/I got back from a best buy store recently, and this JERK told me she just got out of training for the TABLETS! If I were her boss, I would have demanded that she speak of NO bullet points or tech stuff, and be a greeter or a cashier. MAN!!!!!

I asked her what CPU these systems had, and how fast the clocks were. She told me they had NO CPUs, they used VERIZON! Can you imagine how fast verizon would have to be to accomplish that feat? And WHO would buy them? I mean a game would have to use maybe a million bytes at EVERY screen change! Do we even have that kind of power in all the networks put together? Imagine the amount of processing for an arcade type video game, for example!

And what of memory refresh, etc....? Do they REALLY use special purpose chips, like they did 30+ years ago? For the past 30 years or so, they moved a lot of that functionality to the CPU.

NOPE, they DO have CPUs! Well, she then said *DROID was the CPU! Luckily, before I left, I noticed ONE of the cards mentioned the *droid O/S, AND said it had an nvidia Tegra 2 Dual Core 1Ghz CPU, and she promised she would learn it for the next customer. MAN!!!!!

So what did they teach in the class? They CAN'T discuss memory, storage, expandability, etc... because THOSE require a CPU. They can't even talk about graphics, and CERTAINLY not the CPU, or clock. How they can talk about *DROID is BEYOND me! I mean it requires a CPU to run! So I guess all that is left is the MIRACLE of functionality that can be used.

Last week, I ate at a little restaurant, and the waitress said that when her husband got their first FAX, she said she was SCARED of it! She said she wondered how they got the documents to go through the wire. HEY, maybe SHE could sell computers for Best Buy!

      Are you kidding? We can't even DISCUSS it? OK, I'll change the term. Interesting though. I KNOW they trademarked it, but it has been freely used, and I think it was coined EARLIER!

      AND= Common prefix meaning MAN or MALE!
      ROID= Common suffix meaning LIKE.

      Put them together, and you get MAN-LIKE.

    That's a funny story Steve.

    Another one with 'blonde thinking' -

    Funny too because there are so many jokes put out by tech support about the dumb customers - this was a switch! Even Dilbert would be proud.

      I was just going to say it's very Dilbert-esque

      I think today's young people are getting dumber and dumber. I was at the grocery store not too long ago and a customer was in front of me paying. The cashier had punched in the amount of money the customer had given her and it had calculated change. The customer then proceeded to give the cashier some loose change so she could get an even amount back. The cashier got completely confused, spent over 5 minutes trying to figure it out, called in another cashier and finally the manager to get it right. OMG. It was terrifying how dumb she was.
