Couch Potato Marketers Like Me Would Like This

If you're a Warrior like me who spends most of his or her day on the couch, I HIGHLY suggest you try a Kinect (4GB costs about $299).

I dislike video games because I have extreme motion sickness. And I've tried Wii fitness, Playstation, etc. Never got into any of them. And I hated trying to work out while holding a controller.

The Kinect is so cool because you don't need controllers. If you use nightvision goggles you can see the millions of little green dots in the room it uses to scan your body so it can detect your movements.

So I bought the Dance Central and Your Shape Fitness Evolved. The Dance Central was an AMAZING workout and SO MUCH FREAKING FUN!

Me and all of my 3 kids were in here dancing and laughing so much and having a blast!

You have to not care if you look silly. I don't personally. I get REALLY into it so I look even more silly, but it provides a better workout and it's more fun.

Anyhoo I see this as perfect because I can lift my fat ass off the couch, do a few dances (or workouts) and then work more.

LOVE it!

Hey Tiff, make a video of you and your kids dancing to it. Then we can all see if you look silly.

Don that was the only rule with the purchase of this thing - NO video taping Mom!!
    LOL!

My husband threatened to put it on YT or FB.

I tell ya what, it captures quick videos of you in mid play and replays them for you and it's HILARIOUS! I look like Fat ******* from Austin Powers with a little less hair on my body but soon I shall be Megan Fox-like! LOL!

I've been wondering about Kinect since they first announced it. My son the teenager told me it probably wouldn't be "that good" and that I should wait until they updated it.

So, it's good to hear from someone who's actually used it. It's getting too hot here to exercise outdoors (plus we're moving into rainy season) so this will be a great way to stay fit.

      Thanks for sharing!

    Sounds like fun.

However most any exercise besides walking will send me whining to my chiropractor just when I start to get 'into it' - (read over-do it)

Soooo I have found the perfect solution and that is the Contour Belt - they invite you to sit on your fat ass and let it do all the work. And it is even true!

It really works and I can see the difference in only 2 weeks. Actually abs is the only place I carry my weight and always been like that - so I have a ways to go before I could even call it abs.

It feels great with that thing just pounding away for 45-90 minutes

Sounds like fun Tiff - is that the X-Box one??? It's good to find something that is fun to do and gives you a workout at the same time. I have Wii Dance, but yeah you need to hold the controller, but it certainly gives you a good workout.

Yes it's Xbox360 Kinect. So the xbox and kinect console together were $299. Not bad for a game console.

I got hooked on Just Dance Wii in San Antonio and that's what made me want this thing. lol

The Kinect looks neat, I've seen people using it in the store. Interesting factoid, I read that it outsold the Playstation Move 3 to 1 simply because Microsoft had a more aggressive marketing plan. (The Kinect is also more advanced)

I think the only reason it hasn't taken off is that motion gaming is still in it's infancy and there aren't any really killer games out yet. They keep selling motion gaming to what they call "casual gamers" or people who don't usually play video games.

My wife and I are still playing the hell out of Fallout: New Vegas which doesn't get us off the couch lol

lol I dont know how you do IM without going to a gym. When I first started working fulltime, I didnt got to the gym and always felt home sick.

Now that I started powerlifting and im work home (much more time to eat and relax), my health improvement has skyrocketed. Couldnt be happier.
