Family Guy. Because I think it's more "clever" and entertaining.

Simpsons was something I always watched when I was growing up but now I hardly watch it! Family guy is something I do watch when it's on and find it better but I think it's because I am older now.

Simpsons as it promotes family values, even if subliminally, at times.

I told my step kids once that I was learning how to be a parent from Homer Simpson and Al Bundy. They acted like angels for about a week after that

I do like Family Guy more now then the Simpsons

I like The Simpsons more than The Family Guy maybe because I grew up watching it since I was a kid until now.

The Simpsons has been my favorite series ever. However, the newer seasons are not that funny and sometimes even stupid.

Family guy is so sarcastic that I gotta love them

I guess Simpsons wins out considering its longevity and the amount of awesome writers that have worked on the show. Second would have to be South Park for its biting satire. Third is Family Guy because it's allegedly written by manatees (according to South Park lol)

Simpsons, I find family guy is too sporadic and does not have any sense of direction. While it has good one liners, there is not much else to family guy.

    Leave Jessica Simpson's family alone!
    Hasn't she suffered enough already?
Or were you asking about a certain football player's family that had citrus in his name?

I like The Simpsons better than Family Guy. Family Guy's humor is too gimicky. I mean it's funny, but it's pretty much the same few jokes over and over again. I think South Park even had an episode making fun of them for this.

That being said, The Simpsons is WAY past its prime. I think their "golden age" was around 1991 - '94 or so, and it's been downhill since then (or it was when I stopped watching it a few years ago). But stuff like the Monorail episode, the "Cape Fear"-style Sideshow Bob episode, "Who Shot Mister Burns?", a bunch of the Treehouse of Horror episodes from that era - classics.

Definitely Family Guy - it's as though the writers know the show isn't even remotely targetted at a younger audience. And some of the oblique references are refreshingly provocative!
