Name all the girls names in Beatles songs.

I'll start off with a couple of obvious ones to get them out of the way.

Rita
Prudence
Eleanor

  • Off the top of my head...

    Michelle
    Lucy
    Nancy
    Lil
    Magil
Honey Pie (does that count, after all she WAS a working girl)
    Maggie Mae

    Rock on!
  • There is one name that some consider debatable...
  • Julia.
And let's not forget Sweet Loretta Martin; or was she just another man?
  • Don't recall Maggie Mae. Care to refresh my memory?

    • "Oh dirty Maggie Mae, they have taken her away, and she never walked down Lime Street anymore, Oh the judge he guilty found her..."

One of the shorter songs on Let It Be.

      Another name...

Martha (Popular myth says it was about his sheepdog, but McCartney has denounced this at least once).

Penny Lane is a street, but would make a good name.

Lizzy (though it's a cover song, they still recorded it)
      Sally (Same as above)
      Mary

      Rock on!
      Michael

      EDIT: Here's the video...

  • Doris Day via 'Dig It'.
  • Polythene Pam....and she only looks like a man, as opposed to Sweet Loretta Martin who, questionably, is one.
  • Mary Jane

    What a shame!

    (Man, I love that song!)

    Rock on!
    Michael
  • MOLLY!!!

    How could I forget Molly?

    LOL

(I'm mentally running through each song on their albums, but will take a break to give others a chance to chime in)

    Rock on!

    • All I can think of is something to do with Sgt. Pepper (Pepper Anderson), or something to do with female police officers (such as Lovely Rita, Meter Maid).

      Got the ol' wheels turnin'

Angie, written about George Harrisons wife?

    Or was that Layla?

edit: NICKY Harrison was the acoustical arranger for the guitar on Angie.
Gettin my Harrisons out o whack.

    • Nope...It will be obvious when you get it.
    • That was pretty good. I forgot her name.

    • "Angie" was by the Rolling Stones, and was supposedly written about David Bowie's wife. "Layla" was written about Pattie Harrison...and later became Mrs. Eric Clapton.

She was also the source of inspiration for Harrison's "Something" and Clapton's "Wonderful Tonight".

      Rock on!

  • Someone should track some of these girls down, I wonder how many are still alive?
    • [1] reply
    • Hmmmm....can't think of one.

What was the question again?
  • Anna - don't think anyone has mentioned that name yet. Penny Lane is quite definitely a street, and yes there was a barbers shop there.
