Looking for a Mentor

Hello Warriors!

You can call me a infant warrior now with a great attitude and determination. I currently work in the corporate world, but hate the hours and want to have my own business. I truly believe in working smarter not harder and mentorships from seasoned veterans/experts is always the best avenue...in IM or anything. I'm not looking to pay fees or purchase another WSO...I'm looking for someone who would like to impart their knowledge and wisdom in this field to another. If you're already making the money the new challenge I have for you is to help guide me to the same. Take care!

  • What are you offering in return? Nobody is just going to mentor you out of
    the goodness of their heart.

Marketers who are truly successful are too busy working on their businesses
(that's why they're successful) to do charity work.

So again I ask...what are you offering in return?

And before you answer 50% of whatever you make or some other
percentage, 50% of nothing is nothing.

So again I ask...what are you offering in return?

    • Hello Steven,

I can understand and respect your opinion. I guess part of me does hope that there would be someone that would be willing to answer questions and provide guidance while I dive into this field. Such is the case offline where small businesses, chambers, groups get together and bounce ideas off one another and senior members help new members with their ideas and thoughts. Forgive me if I sounded as a "customer" looking for a free service. That is not what I am asking for. I'm not looking for someone to do everything for me and hold my hand along the way. In that sense, sure I'd be willing to offer something.

With that said what I'd be willing to offer is promoting and selling of ones products. I could essentially work for you! This way I work toward selling your products and in return I get advice and help on learning the in's and out's of the business. If you have another suggestion I'm all ears.

      Appreciate the reply!

      Drew

    • I am confident many people in these forums DO do charity work, giving both time and money

Bill Gates gives, so by your definition he is unsuccessful, hmmmm
  • Another horrible, worn out cliche that's about as true as the rumor going
around that there really IS a Santa Claus who flies in the sky on a sled
lead by some animal named Rudolph.

  • So, perhaps you and I could exchange some emails then? I enjoy learning from people...successful people that is. I know IM seems on the surface to be a "figure it out on your own" sort of field...but I'm sure there are successful people on here that are willing to help the newb.

    • Man I wish more people were as candid and as brutally honest as you are here. There are so many bull****s artists in IM (and I'm talking the entire IM world here and not just the WF) that it almost makes yesteryear's 900 services look like the church lads brigade.

While there are a handful of people who are the real deal, I suspect they're outnumbered 100-1 by those who are 'Gurus' in their mind only.

I sent him a PM as well: I'm no 'Guru' either but I'm willing to steer him away from the land-mines on the road and kick start the process of doing IM which most never cross into.

I'll do it because if he succeeds - which is going to be a product of his effort and mentality - then he's a future associate I can work with. I'll do it for no pay or profit for the same reason some people gamble (not my bag, but I'll gamble some time): it can be its own reward. Plus I've beneffited from some unsolicited help along the way, have an offer as an ace in the hole if I ever need to play it, and to give something back.

No money wanted. No affiliate links pushed. I'm willing to try it once as an experiment for the experiment itself.

If nothing else I'll save him some time and wasted money by steering him clear of what I've seen others do: throwing it around and hoping some of it eventually sticks. Plus I have zero tolerance for failure as an attitude or those who believe you can dream your way to success instead of putting the hard work into it that it takes - just as it does in every other pursuit in life.
