Recent events in the main forum reminded me of a quote.

Douglas Bader was the legless WW2 fighter pilot who when told that the rules forbade a legless pilot from flying, replied:

"Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men."

Can such a philosophy survive modern society?
