I was studying Accounting and Finance at a university in Manchester (England.). Unfortuantley I failed 1st year and had to re-take it and ended up failing again. As a result I got a letter from the university saying I couldnt continue my studies at that university.
Therefore, I am now unemployed unless I go into education again and choose a different course. Which I would rather just work now.
I figured out I need ~£200 a week to live fairly decent. ~£100 per week for rent, and the other £100 for food expenses, travel, club costs etc. Any other living expenses.
The only problem is I have only ever worked in retail as I was a student. My work experience is as follows: (All UK Companies):
Boots: 6 weeks
Superdrug: 13 months
Marks and spencer: 3 months
Now, the obvious thing for me is to go back into retail. If I work 9-5 monday to friday I could get around £200 before tax. Only problem is, after tax I would have £150 or so, which would only give me £50 a week to live on which is nothing as I would spend about £60 a week just on food.
So what are my options without a degree?
Any suggestions on what kind of job I can get with little experience to earn ~£200 a week.
My plan atm is to claim JSA (Job seekers allowance) Which is £30-£50 a week in the meantime while I look for a job and figure out what to do...
