Just thought this was interesting

--------

French officials have banned any mention of social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter on radio or television - unless they are specifically part of the story.
The country's broadcasting watchdog has ruled that doing so would break guidelines on advertising.

Maybe they're going by way of censorship. This is the opening salvo that's been done by the dark of night and no one's seeing it??

Or maybe, they're just being ignorant about all of this.

They are trying not to show favoritism. There are other social sites besides twitter and Facebook, believe it or not. It can be seen as unfair advertisement of those particular programs if they are the only ones continually mentioned when social media is spoken about. Actually - it's an attempt at fairness. Not sure if it's a good attempt, but it's an attempt.
