I was hoping the dog would have knocked down those robbers!

Anyway, really brave dog. That's why I love chihuahuas!

I saw that on the news this morning Tbird. Happened somewhere here in Cali.

    They didn't say where.

The owner kept saying, get your dog from the pound (like he did)
They are the most loyal...not that the one I have now isn't (avatar) but I bought him cause I wanted a purebred Lab for my son.

It has been my experience as a lifelong animal lover...they do NOT forget a kindness.

By the way, he did not thwart the robbery...they did get the money, but being as that was the first news report I saw this morning...inspiring none the less.

    Good on the Chihuahua.

That is for sure. I once adopted a wild dog after seeing it literally climb a tree to catch a bird to eat. Became my best bud for years and never needed to chase after birds again.

There is nothing in the world as loyal as a dog you rescue and treat with kindness...nothing.

I'd think the owner might consider getting her dog a pet to help him out - like a rottweiler or German shepherd

My ducks are absolutely not in a row. I don't even know where some of them are...
...and I'm pretty sure one of them is a pigeon.

There are campaigns AGAINST rottweilers and german shepards. Chihuahuas aren't slandered so.

That would be dumb - they are great dogs!

There are campaigns against pit bulls, too - and my Gracie just doesn't understand that.

I never said I agreed. I LIKE german shepards. A neighbor here has an "australian herd dog". and I told him it looked a little like an "australian shepard" I once had.

I have always said I am a dog person. I got locked out of my place a few days ago. NO key! NO phone! It was late and DARK! NOBODY seemed to be awake. The closest open store was about 10 miles away. I was at a loss as to what to do. I EVEN considered sleeping in my old car. 8-( HEY, I hope others respect ME, so I respect THEM! So the neighbors dog started barking, and ran towards me. I haven't had any bad luck here with dogs, so I stood my ground. It turns out that the neighbors electric fence was practically torturing their dog, so he is free to roam now. They had just gotten home from a nice wedding. They helped me out. I forget the dogs name, but I remember THEIRS!

BTW I put my lock in upside down, when I rekeyed it. I figured t would just make things a LITTLE more complicated for robbers. OH MAN! UNDERSTATEMENT OF THE YEAR! Some locksmiths told me this lock was one step above junk! Well, the locksmith tried to pick it the old fashioned professional way! *******FAILED*******! He tried the picking guns that are supposed to be so great. *******FAILED*******! He tried to drill it out! *******FAILED*******! He tried combining EVERYTHING and eventually managed to pull the lock out and defeat the latch! It took like 2 HOURS!

I had a BACKUP in my car, but wasn't 100% sure, so I never brought it up. The locksmith CLAIMED he failed only ONCE there! 8-(

NTW their dog was nice. The neighbor said that if you tried to hurt their kids, the dog would attack, but otherwise is friendly.

The criminals seemed to only really care about what they were given. Something was odd. They didn't seem to care about the dogs health, or that the dog could hurt them. Of course, the dog was ANOTHER target, and that is DANGEROUS! What if the owner had a gun and could have blown them away. And if the dog didn't shut up, OTHERS could come and help. So they couldn't hurt the dog, but had to or they could get killed, so escape may have simply been the best option.
