I just learned. Very sad. I am a fan and hoped that she could beat her addiction problems, but I didn't really think that she would. What a waste.

My son heard this on the news not long after it happened and came dashing downstairs to tell me. He sings and 'Valerie' is one of his favourite songs to perform. It is so sad that someone with so much talent could be so self destructive. She was obviously a troubled young woman and I hope that she has some peace now.
