Even after re-loading and re-installing Shockwave for other browsers - it STILL hangs up and crashes chrome - it's a royal pain in the A$$!
Google acknowledges the problem and the new version is in beta - for months now...does this tee anybody else off?

Any other ideas out there ? (for chrome?)
I could use firefox, but I liked chrome until it kept @#$$%%ing up!

I find Opera works a little more efficiently, the individual tabs in Chrome use up way too much memory.

I don't thinks so they will do it quickly, because they were busy in other competition which were so important and the other competitor is also much stronger facebook.

I'm using Chrome right now, but I agree, it really is a pain in the ass sometimes - keeps crashing :/ I use Firefox whenever it's not working fine for some site, but I don't exactly like Firefox.. It's slow-ish and Chrome is lighter, so..

I agree - I got rid of chrome too - switched to opera, and it seems really fast so far...but there is one toolbar I can't seem to get rid of, that has kayak, ebay, anmazon, shopping, wiki etc...
is that part of the trade off?

go to settings and look for tool bar options or right click somewhere on top of browser you might see tool bar options go there and uncheck the offending toolbar

I am a chrome lover but recently I was building a new pc for my sister in law and inadvertently installed Opera and set it to be the default browser.

I was blown away by it's speed!

I don't like Chrome at all and use Firefox.Firefox is the best because you have a wide range of plugins that you could install ,usefull for SEO or whatever you want to do.

@ wheeljack - Not quite sure what I to remove yet, but offending toolbar is now gone...???

@Spastabetic - I am just starting to use opera, and very happy with speed - I am one who likes to have many tabs open, and does not seem to hang up opera - and NO constant shockwave crash.

If you scroll thru a lot of pages like ebay or WF or script, this browser is almost blinding fast. IE and firefox scroll just plods along compared to this...

The bookmarks could use some tweaks - chrome highlites a star on bookmarked pages - this has no indications, so if I already marked pg, I do not know...
But so far - so good!

I find myself using 4 browsers for various tasks.

Like I mentioned earlier, I accidentally installed Opera and was surprised at it's speed. I use this now for general browsing.

I use IE9 for the news feeds you can setup and read. I read the BBC.co.uk news feeds every morning. But that's about it for IE9, sorry Bill!

I use Firefox for all my SEO stuff as the range of plugins is vast.

I used chrome for general browsing and all my online purchases. Chrome seems to work without a hitch when I'm buying something online. Whereas I've had a few glitches with payments with other browsers.

One other plus point with chrome is ages ago I remember it intercepted me from going to a web page that had malware on it. Great feature.

Sometimes, I do not know why it fails. Chrome frequent errors nonsense.
