    Nothing new here - this has always been the case but since the Patriot Act brought in by GWB was generally accepted as a legitimate part of his war for terror, governments have been more willing to 'come out' and say what they are doing.

    Considering the ease with which personal computers can be hacked, I am surprised anybody would be surprised by this move.

    Time to turn your dcom off and remote help feature off. Might and might not help, but I've shut everything off I can shut off that allows spying - and microsoft has a lot of that stuff built in.
