I use and like FF. I have to consider IE because most of my customers use it.

For the clients that I build websites for, most of their customers use it.

Not paying attention to 70%+ of the market, now that's dumb.

I use Internet Explorer and can authoritatively vouch for the accuracy of that report. The leakiness of internet explorer leads to brain leakage of users. I know.

Its a really nice story and its so true about the internet explorer usage. There were allot of stories available on the net like this. I have stopped usage of IE 5 years ago and only using firefox only sometime i use Opera or chrome.

OK, so almost the entire world(perhaps 90%+ of those using ANY M/S windows compatible system) are DUMB! You see, in the mid 90s, maybe earlier, a company tried to CORNER the computer industry. They were taken to court, and they were told to get rid of IE! THEY claimed that it was too late, and everything was intertwined with IE. Correct or not, one thing they DID do was trick/force companies into using IE, and they will be UNABLE to perform various functions without IE. ALSO, various microsoft products apparently won't work remotely unless you use IE.

So PLEASE, if I must use another browser, PLEASE suggest one! Following are ones known NOT to work:
    CHROME
    FIREFOX
    OPERA

HEY, I'm willing to try. In theory, it would be IMPOSSIBLE to provide a meaningful choice, since it would have to really be compatible on the DLL level, and replacing them could be problematic. This is NOT to say IE is good. It ISN'T! As I said, it is simply a conspiracy by M/S.

    Nice theory anyway!

The fact that a browser isn't compatible with everything out there doesn't mean it doesn't work, Steve. And failing to be usable with certain MS services doesn't mean anything except that MS is trying to get people to continue using their browser through distortions of various protocols.

I find it surprising that a programmer would not have objected to that sort of technological chicanery.

DUH, I KNOW that! But it DOES mean you have to use IE if you want to use something that won't work unless you use it! THAT was the point!

OR addition of proprietary code, OR use of proprietary code. And it affects MORE than M/S programs, since many programs use M/S programming languages which use M/S libraries, and M/S apps! I did contracting work for a company, for example, and had to enter my time and expenses in their system, and it needed M/S Internet explorer! Their email also wouldn't work without M/S internet explorer.

I have spoken AGAINST it for DECADES! Several times here I mentioned M/S has done that! Some time ago, SUN sued M/S because M/S provided an extended Java wit THEIR libraries, and encouraged users to use THEIR libraries. That was ALL legal! WHY did sun sue them? Because M/S provided those libraries with the base code and did NOT tell users that they only supported M/S code. Sun specifically forbids that in the license that allows people, like M/S, to provide such things.

Give me a break, I have spoken against this for some time! My last post STATED that M/S does this, and implied I was against it. So why do you imply I don't know it?

I just hate things like that. I was showing how people end up using whatever. For the record, THIS access is under CHROME.

I use IE, Firefox, and Opera. Does my IQ go down when I switch from FF or Opera to IE?
