One of my friends from Mexico was killed yesterday.

One of my female friends was killed yesterday in Mexico. She and her friend (both 24) were found mutilated on the highway in several boxes.

This upsets me how people can be so cruel to do this to her and display the body as if they were animals and proud of what they did.

It seems like no one will anything because everyone is afraid.

One of my other friends showed me the picture of their mutilated bodies in the boxes found on the highway from a local newspaper.

I was horrified that they would publish the photos in newspapers as though using the horror of it to sell papers but do nothing to stop it or find the people who did it.

I'm half Mexican and look 100%.

I grew up in Wyoming, so I think racism is something I know when I see.

While I don't totally agree with her comments, I don't think that they are based in racist ideology either.

If all you have to go by is the media accounts, and what they say is happening in Mexico, you couldn't possibly think anything but what Patrician's thoughts expressed.

Hopefully in future decades rabid political correctness goes out of fashion.

Scary. Terrifying. And most importantly sad. I am sorry about your loss. I have family near the border of Mexico and Texas. I fear for their lives every time they come to visit and tell a story about how bad it is there... I can't imagine how bad it is in the actual country.

Btw Patrician - Please understand I am not trying to pick a fight with you, or even change your mind on the these issues.

It's obvious that you care, which is more then can be said for most people. I respect that. We all arrive at our opinions based upon our unique life's journey, and very little is likely to change them.

I also do not want to hijack this thread with our disagreement.

I think we can both agree that flowbee's friend was murdered by vicious animals (I can't bring myself to call them human beings), and those animals are in Mexico.

Sadly now the only thing any of us can do is pray for flowbee's friend, as well as her friends, family and community....and maybe say a prayer for all of Mexico because they could use it.

    Best Regards,
    JK

Wow...that's just...wow. I don't think it's American drug laws that are to blame - killing someone because they resisted during a robbery is one thing, but mutilating them like that is just demented.

I've seen this one thing on the news where a bunch of Canadian toursists were killed and the police were actually demanding money if they were gonna do something.

Okay folks, before this thread gets canned (which would be a shame) cut
        the political talk NOW.

I won't repeat myself. One more political comment and I'll report this thread
        to the mods.

To the OP, I am very sorry about your loss. This is a terrible crime and
hopefully those responsible will be captured and punished.

My sympathies to you for your loss.

Thank you for your thoughts. I just needed to express my feelings somehow, thinking it would give me some sort of control.

I can't even imagine how awful it must feel for you, her other friends and family.

        You have my deepest sympathy.

Also sorry I brought up a political issue on the thread. After I did it I had some regrets, which is why there is the last post I made to Patrian.

Anyway -best wishes to you going forward. The pain will not likely go away, but hopefully with time it becomes less.

        best,
        JK

WHY ARE U POSTING SUCH THINGS ON THE WARRIAR FORUM. I
You need to back off - you are postig one liners in old threads - posting unwelcome comments in WSOs (for buyers/sellers only) - and arguing about definitions?

Flowbee - I'm sorry to hear this. The killings there seem to keep escalating - I'm shocked they would show the pictures in the paper.

It's been a long time since I have felt like this. I took a day off of work today. Seeing someone you have known for a long time so nice, beautiful, and full of life in a picture (she was only 24 Years old and so was her friend) with her different body parts placed in different boxes is something no one should ever have to see.

There are so many emotions; part of me wants to go hunt these killers down, part of me keeps thinking of all the pain she must have gone through; part of me wants to stay in bed forever. One thing is for sure her vitality, smile and beauty will never be seen again; I wish all of you could have met her, you would understand.

Sorry about bringing this topic up; I just needed to let it out to someone.

For us it's pretty much unthinkable that they would show the pictures.

But what I believe has happened, and I could be wrong, but this is my opinion, is that the killings there have become so awful, so out of control that the media showed some pictures in some instances trying to get some shock value.

Trying to get people to say "OMG, what is becoming of us" and hoping it would have an impact.

Instead the violence, both on the part of the government and the cartels, has only continued to escalate, but now the genie is out of the bottle so to speak. Having shown the horrible images a few times before now it must be shown every time, or there is no reaction what so ever.

Currently you can get away with murder in parts of Mexico. In Juarez, for example, not even 1 in 500 homocides get's solved.

But still the original point that I made is true. If you stay out of the drug affected area's, and stay away from drugs yourself, Mexico is not very dangerous. (I'm speaking from the point of view of a tourist visiting. If you are a Mexican a number of things can happen. You could see something you shouldn't have, one of your relatives could be involved in the drug or human smuggling business and someone has a vendetta with them etc..any number of issues).

Still though I go visit my family in Mexicali a few times a year, grandmother and grandfather, gramma in her mid 80's, grampa in his 90's, both live there, as well as couins, aunt's, uncles etc. It's a very safe city - one of the most safe in all of Latin America.

I am terribly sorry for your loss. These things you see in the paper that happen to people feel completely surreal until someone you know is a victim. I can only imagine how this has effected you and their families. I will send out good vibes your way! Be strong an positive, even though it may seem difficult or impossible at times.

Patrician - I never thought of deleting my reply to you because I thought you could only do so for an hour or so after the original post for some reason, but I was able too, so I just did.

It would be nice to keep this thread on track and not political. It would be a shame if it was deleted or just turned into a bunch of back and forth bs.

So - if my reply is what has kept you from deleting, like I said I got rid of mine.

I deleted my stuff too, Kelly. Thank you.

... I am so sorry if this added to Flowbee77's distress -

Now if I can get the last quote deleted by the OT mod this will be totally gone.

It was nice arguing with you, you are a fine person, 100%. It is nice to 'debate' and even to disagree without getting nasty about it or 'shooting the messenger' and to come out of it as friends.

Thanks for being able to see all sides - and in fact I think we are all on the same side and that is peace and safety for ALL people everywhere.

Oh God I hope the girls parents did not see those pictures. With any hope, perhaps an authority can assure them the girls died rapidly and the rest transpired later.

Eduardo - I am so sorry. I can't imagine your devastation. My sister had a neighbor family that went for a vacation in Mexico and were never seen or heard from again. Perhaps something good can come from this unspeakable incident. Maybe it will save someone else's life. Mexico is just plain becoming too dangerous to travel in. Maybe some others will take this as a warning and stay away. Perhaps they need to see the reality to understand.

I know that isn't much help for you now. I wish I knew of a way to help - but I don't. The best I can do is offer my condolences to you and share some hope that you will sleep well again soon.
