Buying books with Paypal?

I want to buy some books, but I can only pay with Paypal... looking for physical books, mostly a few copywriting books that have been suggested to me.

Amazon doesn't take Paypal, which is where I was used to buying books. I tried Barnes and Nobles but they only seem to have Nook versions of everything I look for.

Any suggestions?

    Hi,

Have you considered a pre paid credit card?

These are not credit checked and you have to load them up with money first, but they work like a normal credit card. Can be used all over the net.

I'm pretty sure you could find one that allows you to top up via paypal.

edit: PayPal actually do a "student" prepaid card that can be used most places, geared towards teenagers but I guess it may do for what you need.

Isn't there a Firefox plugin that works with Paypal that makes it like using a CC? Sorry I can't think of the name, but maybe this will jog someone else's memory.

And...This is another good reason to get a PP debit card.

Kurt is right. A PP debit card should work for you. The only place I can't get mine to work is at an ATM machine, even though they are suppose to. With almost every place that takes a debit card willing to give cash bach, that really shouldn't be an issue.

I need a checking account to confirm my address and a card to attach to get a paypal debit card, so that is out of the question until I am able to open a bank account. (Long story, but basically my mother over drafted my account by around $1000 when I was 17 and I can't open one until it gets paid back.)

I have looked into a prepaid card, but since my only income is online, I don't have the cash to buy one.

Going to take a look at BetterWorldBooks.com - New & Used Books for Sale, Textbooks, Book Reviews & more - FREE SHIPPING thanks!

EDIT: They had a used copy of the book I wanted for under $4! Awesome! Only problem is I ended up buying a bunch of books instead of just the one. Instead of getting a single copywriting book I have a dozen books on copywriting, marketing, and such on the way!

I thought the credit system in the UK was harsh, but by the sound of your story Amanda we have it pretty easy.

I do believe we are entitled to have a checking account (we call it a current account) whether we are in the mire or not.

      Good luck,

Probably asking the obvious here, but have you looked for your books on ebay or half.com?

You can get a PayPal Debit Card because you are in America.

For those not in America, this solution does not work.

You can get a Netspend card for free. Then you can withdraw your Paypal money into your Netspend card BUT your PP has to be a verified one.

    www.netspend.com

I have used Netspend to get Clickbank payments and the card does work in ATM's here in Colombia. Besides, they have other ways to reload them with cash there in the United States.

I forgot to mention that I have also paid through Clickbank with my card.
