I participated in a debate where I knew nothing regarding the subject and was sent in unprepared. Got a standing ovation at the end. I still get goose bumps thinking about that day.

I jumped out of a perfectly good plane - never agree to do something when you've had a couple too many and are too stubborn to admit you're terrified of heights.

Well I think I managed to fight with my mom and got out of my home and stay else where far from my home and still manage to earn my bread!

I think thats the most daring thing I ever did..

Aw, Kay. If it was a perfectly good airplane it wouldn't have been at the drop zone!

I went "that way" right after someone told me, "Don't go that way... they'll fire on you".

More stupid than daring, I suppose.

Here's my most recent 'holy shit I'm going to die' moment:

I work as a snowmaker for a few months during the winter season, and death stares you in the face around every corner.

Anyways, it was late at night, I was tired, we had a problem with the snowguns freezing up and I had to go up and fix them...

I tried driving up a double black diamond trail on a snowmobile (because I was too tired to walk up), with zero visibility, driving up through the snowguns...

Well, that was a BAD IDEA...

I immediately evaluated my situation and concluded I was in SERIOUS trouble... so I tried to do a U-turn, and wouldn't ya know it, the sled started to roll, kicked me off, and it decided to roll over me 5-6 times, going up in the air a good 4-6 feet and slamming back down on me multiple times.

If you have never had 600 lbs of machine rolling over you down a very steep hill... well you are lucky, I don't suggest it for anyone.

No broken bones, but I couldn't walk for 3 weeks.

    Fun times.

Oh, that reminds me: Try 85-stone of living horse-meat instead. (That's about 1,250 pounds, I think).

      I don't recommend that either.

That sounds like loads of fun too

I see a 'I don't recommend this' thread could be quite fun...

Um...I was walking a ridge above white water once and the path behind us gave way and there was nowhere to go forward after a bit. I had my dog with me and wasn't going to leave him so my late fiancee climbed with the rope and got down river and screamed to us - I pulled Blitz (last rotty) over the edge with me and we floated down the white water until we got down river enough for Mark to throw the rope to me. I grabbed it and it pulled us in to shore as the length ran out. Terrified going over the edge but the ride turned out to be kinda fun - cold, but I'm not a guy so my ego was intact coming out of the cold water. LOL.

Other one was when Munchie fell in a mine shaft filled to 4 feet down with water. I had to hook my legs around a beam and lower myself in to grab him and pull him out. That was scary. I had both arms and decided the only way to get him without killing me too was to take him by one arm and risk dislocating his arm - better than drowning. When I started to pull him up, which my adrenaline was racing enough to do, he got his hind legs on the side of the shaft and pushed and between him and me he shot out of there like a rocket. I hugged him for a long time, and cried like a baby (I'm a woose at heart) and he shook like a leaf and came close to licking the skin off my face. That whole thing was so horrific that we never went back to that location even though there were some great crystals yet to be picked up. Just makes me shiver yet to this day to think about the whole thing. If that beam had slipped or broken.........I don't wanna think about it.

Nope. I am slow, but not stupid.

My first marriage, I married a 5'9" ex-Marine with blondish-brown hair and blue eyes who was 9 months younger than I am.

The second time, I married a 5'9" ex-Marine with blondish-brown hair and blue eyes who is 9 months younger than I am.

(Yeah, my ex-MIL got a hoot outta that, too.)

PLUS, my youngest son was due on my ex-hubby's birthday. (I chose to be induced early, needless to say.)

Lasik surgery to my eyes. In fact, three times to my L eye, and twice to my right. Things did go wrong with my L eye after the second surgery and I started seeing double images of traffic lights. It took another 4 years for technology to become available to correct it.

How bad was your eye sight? And was it since childhood or using the pc?

I have been short-sighted since childhood with -9.0 Dioptres on both eyes.

After the first operation, a little bit of astigmatism was introduced into both my eyes and that was what the second op was for.

However, something went wrong after the second op with my L eye. Something called "irregular astigmatism" or "high order aberrations" was introduced. This was in 2003 and in fact, it had only been possible to measure a few years earlier by wavefront technology. I was extremely worried and agitated because I knew the technology to treat it was just becoming availble but was unreliable.

It took another 4 years before my opthalmologist was confident to carry a third operation called "complex wavefron guided customized ablation" I was extremely scared but the operation proofed to be a great success. I was one of the lucky ones because the problem I had was notoriously difficult to treat and the success rate was poor.

During the operation, I had to keep my eyes still for nearly 2 minutes while it was being lasered. Before the operation, I was very worried that I would sneeze and I took some ant-cold medication just in case.

I am glad that this is all over. In all honesty, I cannot recommend corrective vision surgery to anybody in a flippant manner.

I broke an airplane once...unintentional and I survived without a scratch. Recently I rode a track hoe off a 12 ft embankment...bad bruise on my left shin bone, but other wise OK.

Now I'm known around town as a champion track hoe rider...not operator.

I never do things like jump out of airplanes or foolishly tie a rope to my ass and jump off a bridge.

OK, (taking a big breath here.) I left home at 16. That was 45
    years ago. Since then.........
I've crossed deserts, climbed mountains, forded rivers and been to
see the lady in the red dress on numerous occasions. I've been
beat up, cut up, shot up, blown up and twice nearly burned up. Along
the way I lost a war, lost my only child, lost my left leg, and left behind
two exwives who couldn't keep up or chose not to. I've lived my life
by the words from Hamlet, "this above all, to thine own self be true".
You don't get to do that for free. Life has a price. My neighbors think
I'm a crank and a recluse and I could give a flyin' rats ass. No regrets,
no do overs. (and this is the short version)
