I read an article that the Olympic Committee is grilling London officially right now.

How embarrassing really. Part of their bid had to have been a comprehensive security plan--and if they can't stop a few thousand rioters can they really keep control of several million people during the games?

Actually - it's humor. I can't solve the problems in the UK - or here. I can look at them, wonder about them but I can't make things better.

The agonizing over the woes of society gets old after a while. If I want to laugh at a funny video, I'll laugh. It won't make a tinker's damn of difference to how the world spins or what injustices may be happening as we speak.

What if that had happened in YOUR town?

It did and in towns nearby as well. You lose sympathy fast when you see people vandalizing and stealing and laughing about it because they are so "brave". We'll have to disagree on this one as I have no sympathy for looters and that's what much of this "righteous riot" was.

You can fill the streets with demonstrators and get attention - you don't have to abuse shop owners and normal people to make a point.

Ah, crap Kay - I'm so sorry. I was just joking about the video and did not even think of or remember what you've been through. Ouch. I definitely did not mean to hit that sore spot and was seriously only being sarcastic in a "funning" nature. No need to insert foot and swallow - it was interesting but I wasn't personally harmed by it. It did change my perception of riots and looters. I had often thought people had "reasons" - now I think it's "excuses."

The real victims are those who have homes and businesses damaged and items stolen. No biggie:p
