What is "Senior Warrior" status or title mean to you?

It probably really does not matter, but it is kind of an idiom and/or lexicon of this forum.

Sort a a "text" avatar unique to this forum.

One of my definitions is that anyone that was a member of the old warrior forum can have that as a title.

But I think in this new forum, anyone typing that particular title , it should be treated like bluefart.

That should be the only "reserved" title strictly granted, knighted if you will, by either original Warrior members or Senior Warrior members of the unquestionable, highest standing, whatever yardstick is used to measure that.

Sort of bugs me when someone , who joined 3 months ago, got 1500 post in, and call themselves "Senior".

End of Rant.

Well - as far as I know - that title happens automatically when a person reaches "x" amount of posts.

Not sure. You can change your "Warrior Title" by clicking on your UserCP.

"Hyper Active Warrior" happens after "x" amount of posts too.

So really it's Allen/Admin/Whomever OP should be talking to because they made the "rules." (And not the people who have "Senior Warrior.")

      Cheers.

The tags are automatically assigned by the forum software according to how many posts you've made, but you can override them if you choose.

From memory, I think the settings are:

        0-9 posts = Warrior Member

        10+ posts = Active Warrior

        100+ posts = Hyperactive Warrior

        1,000+ posts = Senior Warrior

        10,000+ posts = Classic Warrior

        20,000+ posts = Vintage Warrior

        50,000+ posts = Veteran Warrior

        100,000+ posts = Historical Warrior

        1,000,000+ posts = Steven Wagenheim

Senior Warrior Status means that you got through 1000 posts and Paul didnt nuke you... so there is a little indication that you may have some degree of credibility, or at least you havent messed up TOO bad in a thousand posts... and that not only Paul, but a thousand other protectors of this forum didnt sniff you out as a scam artist and nuke you.

Making it to 1000 posts here... is a good benchmark, sort of a coming of age. It took me years to hit 1000 and it was a great feeling when I could have that title, and I wear it proudly... call me altruistic , but it MEANS something. I could put whatever I want under my name... to me "Senior Warrior' is the best!

Well, the forum USED to be less political and religious. Contrary to ANYTHING you hear, I did not start that. Hopefully paul agrees. If not, he can go through the thousands of posts I posted earlier and realize it is true. So THAT was not a concern. The peer monitoring I think is relatively new. And nobody could call me a scam artist. I have rarely even tried to sell anything here.

But yeah, the number simply means you aren't some fly by night. Some people come here just to post a scam, and SOME claim they have been here like forever, or act like it, and the date and number of posts prove it to not be true. But HEY, some of the WORST scammers stay in business a while. I said ENRON should go bankrupt like 2 YEARS before it did. I was shocked it held on so long.

I found out about ENRON because I was in california, and heard all the nasty stories, etc.. My hotel even charged ***ME*** an extra $7/day because ENRON didn't honor their contracts! It was then mentioned in a large newspaper that CALIFORNIA was insured by enron, and enron didn't honor it! The insurance said that consumers, LIKE ME, would not be charged more than a certain price, which in my case should have been the planet wide traditional ZERO!!!!! WHY ZERO? Because hotels have relatively low charges for guest usage of electricity, and include it in their STANDARD room charge! It turns out that ENRON actually cut back on the supply of power, and bet on commodities. The price skyrocketed, and the hotel charged a power sur charge.

OH, and I never changed that field. My position has ALWAYS been, EVERYWHERE, just as I stated above!

BTW it took you YEARS to hit 1000? WOW. I got addicted, and was doing an average of at least 6 posts a day, so it probably took me about 6 months!

Well when I originally signed up I think I was JADurham that was back around '99...I participated for about a year or so... then I lost (forgot) my password after changing it from what it had been and then not posting for 6 months, and getting caught up in other interests... building businesses... and so instead of rejoining (Was a paid member) I just lurked for a few years, but still was a warrior at heart... then I resigned up about 3-4 years ago or so under a different username when I saw something that turned me on so much that I just had to post..., then I finally changed my user name to John Durham last year and decided to just be Buck Naked in front of the whole world lol!

The last couple of years I have become alot more active as I feel I have alot more to offer... Plus Im a boring 42 year old now, not an exciting 30 year old like I was then when I first joined... So posting is like alot more exciting these days! Lol

You know you are getting "seasoned" when your weekend excitement is hanging out on the WF instead of running about partying... My virtual friends are some of my BEST ones these days.

I was here lurking for a year - went off to do something else (i.e., to learn enough to understand what people here were talking about then -quite different conversations than you see now) - came back forgetting my password and signed up again 2 yrs after originally joining.

My first long conversation here was fighting back when someone attacked me - I had kicked him out of another forum where I was Admin.

The only reason I'm posting this is because I have no idea what it says under my forum name - that stuff on the left is something I don't pay attention to on my own posts

Now I'll click submit - and see what I "am".

Not sayin the above cannot be gotten to legitimately, but to me, it weighs quite heavily on the suspicious side.

I think that title is almost Warrior trademark, proprietary in character and representation.

Call yourself anything you want, but that title should be more exclusive than being a War Room member, cannot be bought, and given permission to use it only after complete and thorough , verifiable certainty of that Warrior's trust factor, above all else, whether they are marketer or not, by the patriarchs of this forum.

    @ John Durham & 13th Warrior -

I see what John is saying about the badge, - you gotta earn it.

There are a few who mess up and probably (or should) start from scratch -
(one person made the mistake of spamming probably the whole WF yesterday - a suicide move if ever there was one)

You've both belonged to this forum as a steady contributor since 2007 - that does account for something as street cred - but I see 13's point about the rapid rise of some seeking to shorten the curve...

Some new contributors look like they may have a lot of experience, but just never shared it before in a forum setting.

In the end, perhaps it is the value of the post and not the number obtained which will garner respect and provide the most satisfaction from fellow Warriors.

I still say anyone typing that, exclusively that title alone, under their name should get the bluefart treatment.

The Warrior Patriarchs , at request, will review and unlock the bluefart code as they see fit, if it takes days, or even a year from now, when ever they feel like it, especially if you think that title is important.

There are some that are automatically in, the rest will simply have to wait and see.

The rest are not necessarily quite proven , or proven to deserve THAT status of the trust of this forum, representing, regardless of the number of post.

Probably no big deal either way, but that title has some amount of weight and affinity attached to the integrity and reputation of this forum and some of it participants.

Just seen one guy with over a thousand plus in 5 months, and 40% of his post is :

13th ... for what it's worth, I agree in principle with your sentiments about the titles. That would give them more meaning and value. Right now the titles hold no value because quick comments that have no value count; plus anyone can change the title to anything they want.

I don't think anything is going to change though.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

Sort of like a guy who been in the military for 30+ years and can move up in rank, although he is a custodian, and doing jobs like that.

General or Admiral or other such titles is beyond his reach.

There are just certain titles that really mean something and just anyone simply can't have them, or buy them.

A Warrior suddenly and very unexpectedly arrived in heaven. He was met by St. Gabriel who offered a guided tour so the new arrival could determine where he
wanted to spend eternity. They walked together down a long hallway opening doors
as they went. Newbies in this room, (a very friendly group). Bloggers in the next, affiliate marketers in the next and so on. Presently they turned a corner and walked
down a dimly lit hallway with a single door at the end. Opening the door just a crack the new arrival saw about 30 people sitting around doing nothing but patting each other on the back. "Shhhh," said St. Gabriel, "this is where we keep the Senior Warriors and they think they're the only ones up here."

The people I see dissing those who have been visiting the WF frequently for many years ...are those afraid they will be called out.

If you've been participating here for a few years - you see a poser coming from a mile away. If they get out of hand - it's the senior warriors who are often quick to call them on it.

Would be easier for some people if everyone here was new and would believe balderdash when you post it. Then you could be an instant expert - collect the money - and take a hike.:p

Instead, you get people like me (and quite a few others) who say "wait - have you tested that money making idea you are selling here" of someone who has been posting "help me make money" and "I need money fast" the previous week.

To which he replies "you are mean to newbies".

The mods and admins are busy enough dealing with spammers, scammers, brawlers, and who knows what other shenanigans to be knighting forum members.

And that still doesn't mean there won't be shoddy characters regardless if they have 1 or 10,000 posts.

The responsibility and power to knight warriors lies with you. You can click on "view all threads, posts" that any warrior has made to see how they interact. You can check the websites in their sigs to see how they operate, you can Google their name (unless they're using a handle like The 13th Warrior :p ). You can ask around about the Warrior. You can easily get more information beyond their post count/title.

The power to vet individual Warriors should lie with you, not with the forum owner/management.

Which is why a guy with 1500 post in 3 months with "Senior Warrior" in his title would probably not be your hero .

I still think a person should have to apply for it, not automatic, unless he/she is Allen Says or somebody with unquestionable reputation like that.

Especially if that title is important to you.

Just like you are not automatically approved to be a WSO affiliate simply because you applied.
