We've all heard the famous saying, "If It Sounds Too Good To Be True, It Usually Is". But can you think of any exceptions?

The first things that come to my mind is ...

Satellite Technology, Smart phones and Beyonce. (Not necessarily in that order).

What's your thoughts?

Computers themselves, over clocking, radio, tv, electricity, fax machines, photography, I could go on and on!

How about that guy that realized something people have dreaded for decades, maybe centuries! Static electricity. Who would EVER have thought it could be used for printing or copying? YEAH RIGHT! Charge a drum with static electricity and expose a rotating drum to light from a sliding panel so that the light hits a particular part of the drum, rotate the drum in some plastic like dust that is meltable, charge paper, run it under the drum and through an inert heating element and you end up with a copy of the original document, if it is all the same color as the dust. YEAH RIGHT! But that is how xerox copies and laser printers work!

THAT is why people ignore that axiom, because it has SO many flaws!

IMAGINE! We have something one could argue doesn't exist! It is not anything that can really be seen, is rarely felt, you can't really smell it, etc... The chemical makeup of what it runs through really doesn't change. Electricity! Yet WHERE would this world be without it?

In addition, high speed internet, certain cars that give good bang for the buck, some dollar value items at fast food places that actually give you a decent amount of food for only the dollar (I mean what can you buy for a dollar anymore other than value items and lottery tickets?). Oh and dvr's for recording those 3 shows at once while you watch another. Streaming video/shows/movies online. I need more time to think on some more.
