I'm not sure what was worse for Wenger - the result or the post-match interview in which his old foe, Fergie, actually praised him and said he felt sorry for the beleaguered Arsenal manager

Maybe - just maybe - this could be the final wake-up call for Arsene and the board and spur them to reach into their coffers and bring in the 4-5 quality players they need if they're going to avoid an extended spell in mid-table wilderness.

Probably too late to do much before the current transfer window closes, though.

I had the sense from last year Wenger has lost the plot..he keeps losing players but will not buy...I could see a big Man U win today. But never dreamt 8-2. How far have Arsenl fallen from the "unbeatables in 2003/04 to this team.

Both Manchester teams top. Both Spurs and Arsenal bottom.... I mean City won at spurs 5-1 to show they are a serious power in football now. 3 way battle for the league Man U/Man C and Chlesea. The rest cannot compete.

Absolutely ecstatic :-D Sad to see Arsenal in this state, sincerely! Arsene knows he needs to bring in quality and experience! If he thinks he can secure top 4 with the current squad he is delusional, but I don't believe he does! United were quality and we sure put our marker down for City to respond to!!

I think City put the marker down for you to respond to by thrashing Spurs and what a response it was.

I had a look at the "Manager Sack Race" and Wenger is second favourite to be the next manager sacked after Steve Kean at Blackburn. I don't think he'll go just yet, he'll be given time. The season is early, there's a few more days of the transfer window left and once injured and suspended players are back, Arsenal will begin to rack up the points again.
