Most of us here are doing business over the Internet. If your main line goes down, do you have a backup Internet connection? or do you call your ISP?

Yes... McDonald's. Needed it twice and it worked out well.

One is through my landline, which i normally use, the other does not need a landline.

I think it's always a great idea to have a wireless USB backup ready.

Over here in Germany, you can get prepaid contracts where you just pay for them the day you use them.

I'll get one of those soon as a backup.

I have a usb modem with '3' which I can use at home if the BT broadband service should go down.

I need to find out how to link into my Nokia phone also on '3' as I now have 2 GB data included in my contract. This means that I could give up my usb modem to save money.

I call my ISP to complain and they let me know nothing can be done about it.

So I simply hop onto a ferry and visit the neighbor island to get internets over there.

    At McDonalds too.
